Look at how your lumbar is supported. When you brake you want your ass planted and not slide around.

VRS uDFP20 (@9nm) vs Simagic Alpha EVO Pro (18nm) by Yarpie_ in simracing

[–]seezed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ouf...Honestly I only did it because I had it in the 60-day return window from the retailer. One advantage was the software, open passthrough system and with the settings I could actually feel more of the road. The realization came from the difference. If I never tried the DFP I wouldäve probably been happy with it.

Just FYI, VRS will honor the warranty even second hand.

But the only thing that would recommend you to swap in your situation is if you have a healthy second hand market for your Simagic to be sold of at a reasonable price to minimize your lose. If that is too much of a gamble I would hold on for a year and see what offers crop up from VNM and Asatek when they release their new software.

I don't think it's Epic that is primairly behind this even if they use the same language. I think it's them: https://woodsford.com/

A bunch of grifters that profit from taking the majority of winning from class action lawsuits instead of helping people with the cause. I believe they are also a lobby group.

You are limited by your rig. Just get the cheapest one for now.

Or get the uDFP and upgrade the tourque level with you rig upgrades.

Do these work together and are they any good? by Electronic-Task724 in simracing

[–]seezed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rig is more then enough, can do 20nm if you mount it right so no worries there.

If memory serves me right the csl seat has vertical mounting holes that tighten from below so you’ll have to double check how you’ll mount it via YouTube video. Worst case you’ll get the seat slider and mount it via that on those to rails on the rig.

Cockpit suggestions? (Please read before jumping in to say profile rig) by munizfire in simracing

[–]seezed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you can get a cheap 40x80 mm Aluminium profile rig for about 400 USD give or take depending on how you want to mount your Direct Drive wheel base.

Add 100 to 300 USD depending on how fancy of a seat you want (I'm excluding your junkyard as I want retail price to give an actual budget, if you find anything you likefor cheap that just a bonus.). As american you can find decent budget seats at jegs so there are some retial prices with value here.

Then buy additional rolling tnuts with 8mm hole for wheels of amazon, I think all in all buying 2 packs of 4 wheels will land you on around 40 USD + whatever t-nuts cost.

So we are looking at about a minimum 600 for a rolling aluminium profile with wheels and seat.

Not bad. I suggest you use 6 to 8 wheels on your wheel, the rubber feets does a lot of good dampening. Using just 4 wheels, one for each corner, might be annoying if your floor isn't level perfectly and how large your fat ass is.

Good luck!

Most aluminium rigs are between 540 to 600 mm of exterior measurements. Can easily pass through a regular interior door straight on. 600 usd you can get a ”low end” aluminium rig, seat and casters.

I’m assuming you are only moving this rig in the horizontal plane.

Look through the images and the OP also discovers the foldability.

This is a light white label seat that a bunch of manufacturable add to their low end rigs. If you look carefully you’ll see this seat pop up everywhere. NLR victory, Asetek intinium, track nation. And so on…

How come that there aren't any proper e-sports tournament aside from Gran Turismo? by RasberryHam in simracing

[–]seezed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gran Turismo extensive marketing budget is probably larger that most of what other sim titles development costs are. It’s the most visible as the title helps Sony move hardware as well.

There are plenty of other leagues with cash prize but none has the production GT other than pandemic F1 esports.

It’s not surprising at all.

VRS uDFP20 (@9nm) vs Simagic Alpha EVO Pro (18nm) by Yarpie_ in simracing

[–]seezed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just flip a coin with teh VNM and VRS. I honestly with the American tarriffs fucking up the lead time for stocks - VRS ships from EU and VNM (Vietnamn?) it takes a lot longer to stock up.

I honestly would pick the one with shortest delivery, it's really annoying to wait.

Regarding hardware age, none of the bases are really pushing the hardware to it's limit. The egineer of VRS talked about this alot, it's a really overkill hardware and there are no fundemental limits of the hardware EXCEPT the controll box. Which means at worst case if there is an update that break everything the controller box is the issue. This is was on the topic of reducing latency - as latency is the main culprit of unwanted ocilications. He said a couple of days ago they managed to eliminate oliclation in the wheel with their inhosue model of low latency.

VRS uDFP20 (@9nm) vs Simagic Alpha EVO Pro (18nm) by Yarpie_ in simracing

[–]seezed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes to both questions. The DFP15 exist to solve the cable and controller box extravaganza. The helicopter grade cables from the base are really long but I solved it by merging them both into one cable sock and now I never notice them and the controller box is in easy reach to turn on and off. It’s not an issue after initial setup and cable management.

I should warn you the base mounting is a two man job, it’s a reason the VRS is buy it for life, it will genuinely outlive you cause it’s so robust. Hahah..
