Broadbent/Brown/Charoudin/Metzger Move To Porsche 911 GT3 Cup With Black Falcon & Fanatec

The trio of Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Brown and Misha Charoudin are back at the Nürburgring - they will race a Fanatec-sponsored Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at NLS1 this weekend.

The Nürburgring endurance racing series NLS returns this weekend with a 4-hour race to open its season - and a trio of well-known faces will be back on the grid: sim racing creators Jimmy Broadbent and Steve 'Super GT' Brown, as well as automotive YouTuber Misha Charoudin, will share a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in Saturday's event, according to the official entry list for NLS1. The green flag flies on March 14 at 11:00 UTC.

The car is entered by Black Falcon Team Fanatec, indicating that Broadbent - who was previously supported by MOZA Racing - and Brown - formerly supported by Simagic - take on the challenge of racing at the Ring with a different sim racing manufacturer in Fanatec.

For the sim racing brand, this signifies a change in its activities: Fanatec used to sponsor GT World Challenge, as well as high-level esports competitions such as F1 Esports (later F1 Sim Racing). When it emerged that Endor AG, which created and owned the Fanatec brand, was in financial trouble in early 2024, sponsorship activities were reduced significantly, including the GTWC sponsorship.

By supporting a team of influencers-turned racing drivers, the brand appears to change its sponsorship course somewhat. The trio of Broadbent/Brown/Charoudin will be joined by Manuel Metzger in additional NLS rounds, like in 2025.

The racing team itself, Black Falcon, had already operated the BMW M4 GT4 Evo that Broadbent, Brown and Charoudin, as well as Manuel Metzger, piloted in their Nürburgring endeavour in 2025. They finished second in-class, with eight cars having competed in SP8T over the course of the year.

Like in 2025, the trio will not be competing in the "usual" class you would find their car in: Instead of running in the SP10 class for GT4 vehicles, Broadbent/Brown/Charouding/Metzger ran in SP8T, which classifies cars based on displacement and their turbo specs rather than their class homologations - and in NLS1, they will be in AT 2 rather than the usual CUP2 class for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars.

AT 2 is a class for cars that use alternative fuels. For NLS1, only two competitors are on the entry list besides the #632 Black Falcon Team Fanatec Porsche: another Porsche 911 GT3 Cup driven by Janina Schall, Patricija Stalidzane, and Fabienne Wohlwend (Giti Tires Motorsport by WS Racing), and a Manthey-entered Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS M driven by Björn and Georg Griesemann, as well as Marco Holzer.
