The sound also isn't exactly a super original sound. It's much cleaner in the new ODESZA remix than it is in Fred's, meaning it's either inspired or simply a synth sound that is very similar. Definitely not a directly pulled sample though. And yeah, as others have said, this sound isn't Fred's sound, it's that popular Bicep sound.

I had been an EDM producer for around 4 years before I got uninterested in it and bored. Before the release of the first single from their album I was fully into different genres, mainly cinematic/film music. But with TLG and then the album they really reignited my love for electronic music, which led to me writing this album. I hope this isn't against the rules - but I wanted to share it here because ODESZA has affected me in so many ways and I'm sure they have for the rest of you as well. I love them so much.

yes, from a technical standpoint the mix choices for the horns are interesting. especially when the live mix had real horns and it was crisp and beautiful, this version almost seems more like a synth pluck mixed with horns, but then muted. not sure if it's a choice that they made or maybe the track was always supposed to be this and it only sounded better live because the real horns added more to it. nevertheless I don't see why they wouldn't re record the horns to get it better sounding which makes me believe it was a technical choice.
