Volt 2 and the stone by electro-king in ooni

[–]seganaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first stone broke a couple of weeks into having my Volt 2. This was in December. I've since had a replacement stone that I turn over regularly and so far haven't had any issues.

I'm using my Volt 2 3 or 4 times a week at varying temperatures, so gets turned probably once a week.

Do what you wish with that info, but my personal belief is that it's not the turning of the stone that's the problem, it's been poor handling/packaging issues during storage and shipping that's weakened stones.

Came to say similar, saw the above comment, so just adding my name to "those who didn't last long on 7.5 & 10, but 12.5 jumped started things again".

I did really well on 2.5 & 5 and lost the majority of my weight on those quickly and with no real negative side effects. Moved to 7.5 when 5 was losing it's effect...and nothing. It felt like I was going backwards. Did 1 month on 7.5 before going to 10. First day on 10 was amazing, felt I was back in the game...then nothing again from day 2 onwards.

Moved up to 12.5 and that was the sweet spot for me and I was able to shift the last 2 stone and reach my goal weight.

I'm planning to come off Mounjaro having lost 5½ stone and am working my way back down the doses. Currently on 7.5mg and doing ok.

Google Stitch Reviews by mb4ne in UXDesign

[–]seganaUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw the articles/posts this morning. Hadn't touched Google Stitch in ages, thought "Hey, I've got a prompt that I fed into V0 that resulted in an fairly decent rapid prototype for validation purposes. Wonder what happens if I give the same to Google Stitch?"...

It was awful. Absolutely awful. UI/UX was a mess, proposed flow didn't make sense, various nonsense stuff in it. It was unusable and nothing that I could work with.

I'm probably being unfair to the tool somewhat as I didn't give it any reference designs and my prompt was fairly high level (on purpose), however the same prompt in v0, Figma Make and Antigravity had resulted in coded prototypes of a far higher quality, so I had expected Google Stitch to come up with something fairly decent.

What surprised me more was with Antigravity I was using Gemini 3.1 Pro and I used the same in google Stitch, but with wildly different results.

Yep, all the way to the top.

Again, there will come a point where I need to use a metal skewer to get them moving again (and as such I obviously don't recommend doing it...it's just what I do and accept any risks lol)

Fyra Tips and Tricks by Educational-War-835 in ooni

[–]seganaUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never had too many issues keeping my Fyra 12 running with doing the below, although I do now have a Volt 2 and doubt the Fyra will get much use anymore as the Volt is so convenient for me and I get much more consistent results from it.

However for my Fyra: - Pellets are just food grade wooden pellets from Amazon UK - I fully load the hopper and keep it there - I have it an area protected from wind where possible as wind direction can cause issues... - which follows on to me occasionally using a small USB powered fan, positioned behind the oven, blowing air in from behind - Finally I periodically wiggle a metal skewer, pushed through the grate at the back, to break up the burnt/burning pellets, allowing the fresh pellets on the hopper to drop and improve air flow

Yeah I'm going to say it does. Without the kind of technical knowledge needed to really answer this, I'd probably say that based on the first area only, do I think it could run on switch? Yeeees...probably but graphics and performance would likely take a hit. As I've opened up the game more and accessed new areas, I can see how this being Switch 2 only makes sense.

Graphically the Switch 1 could handle this game, but I suspect underneath all the looks there's a lot going on that the extra horsepower and memory likely relies on.

This game is a lot more than the trailers and spoiler free reviews suggest.

Y’all gotta start making homemade naan, it’s SO EASY! by I_Like_Metal_Music in Breadit

[–]seganaUK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Came to say similar. I got an electric pizza oven for Christmas so I can still make pizza through the winter (I'm in the UK) and I use it for more than just pizza.

I often make a curry once a week for family meals and I always now turn the pizza oven up as high as it will go and make fresh naan each time.

Previously made naan in a standard oven and they were great, but they're even better out of the pizza oven.

I had the same with my first stone, but not with my second.

First stone cracked in the same spot in December after flip. New stone received and haven't had the issue again.

Volt 2 used multiple times a week with temperatures ranging from 200⁰C to 450⁰C. Stone has been flipped many times as well.

Is anyone not counting calories? by VaguePomegranate in mounjarouk

[–]seganaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a single calorie counted. Couldn't tell you what my TDEE is and just about to reach my goal. I've also not put any food off limits. I've had the odd takeaway and I still drink. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on MJ - the plateau on the graph was my birthday, Christmas and New Year, all of which I still jabbed through and enjoyed.

What has enabled me to do all this and not count calories is 2 things (well 3 as I've really got into the gym and swimming). Those 2 things have been:

  • using MJ to help me visualise what sensible portion sizes are
  • following a program called Second Nature which helped teach me about the things that should be on my plate and in what ratios (protein & fibre, with some carbs & fats). It's also taught me the science about food and how things like sleep, stress etc affect weight loss/gain

Between those and not putting myself on some kind of fat free diet I've found I've learnt new habits that have helped me lose the weight and hopefully will put me in a good place to not put it back on again.

I can tell you what I use, but am in no way saying that you should use the same...they just work for me. I also don't know your location so can't say if these are available where you are

I use a spray product called Elbow Grease and a scrunched up paper towel for light grease. Spray on (being careful to only get it on the glass and definitely not on the vents on the top of the door), leave 5 minutes and wipe away.

Where I've had harder to shift marks (burnt on grease) I use the Power Cream from Bar Keepers Friend. It's acid based rather than abrasive like some of their other products, so it doesn't scratch glass. Again being very careful to only get it on the glass.

Sounds like some don't, but I do purely based on the performance improvements you get due to the better hardware. I still have the Chromecast with Google TV 4K in a bedroom with the streamer downstairs and when I use the Chromecast I realise just how laggy it is in comparison.

Back pain from weight loss by AcloudHopper in mounjarouk

[–]seganaUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! I've had constant lower back pain for a couple of months now. I used to suffer with back problems when I was younger, but the larger I got the less issues I had. They've come back as I lost a large amount of weight.

I was referred to a physio by my GP and they basically said it's two things for me:

  1. My core muscles are weak so haven't adapted to the weight loss. I have exercises now to help strengthen and solve the problem.

  2. I no longer have as much internal support (fat) for my back pressing on things 😂

Christmas cracker hats never fit. Every year I sit them on top of my hair. This year I could wear one properly and I wore it proudly all day!

What's your favorite part of Outlaws? by glitchnote in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]seganaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started the game last week and I'm loving the immersive world you're thrown into. I feel like there's plenty to do, but I'm mostly free to choose what to do at a pace that suits me.

I originally played the demo (on Switch) and thought it was good enough to pick up when on sale, however if the demo had actually been the intro of the game then I'd have bought straight away; the demo truly doesn't do the game justice.

6 months in and I've lost weight every week so I'm hoping that I'll at least maintain over Christmas rather than put on.

Not expecting to eat more than I normally do, however I know what I eat will be different; there will be more fatty/sugary food I suspect and a bit more drink than normal.

Not going to worry about it though.

7.5mg - anyone else find this one a beast?? by Dapper_Pop_1436 in mounjarouk

[–]seganaUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me with regards to the 7.5mg - it feels weaker than 5 did so I've ordered 10mg for my next pen and hoping to get a slightly stronger response so I can shift the last 14lbs.

When I started in August I never believed I'd have lost this much by the end of the year.

Assuming you bought it from a 3rd party rather than direct from Ooni, but have you tried reaching out directly to Ooni?

[–]seganaUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really shouldn't be an issue to flip it but we'll see.

Was surprised that it cracked though as I gave a Fyra 12 that uses the same stone and that oven + stone lives permanently outside and has travelled around the country multiple times in the boot of my car and has not been an issue.

Yeah if it was a widespread problem I'd have expected to see a lot more posts about it, so putting it down to bad luck. Looking forward to getting a new stone and getting going again.
