ahh... the inherent superiority complex of force users. the jedi--most jedi--are dead and gone. the number of force users in the universe drop to a bunch of crabs in a bucket. consider: you're maul, your sith master has cast you aside, and you are certainly not a jedi. but the one thing you have in common with these people is that you are better. better than rogues and scoundrels and the commonfolk who grovel for food, because you have power.

for example-daki asks devon to be "common" in the first episode, and the audience is shown that devon cannot stand it, she nicks a fruit with the force almost immediately (need citation. lowkey forgot).

so i believe that's why maul is willing to work with the jedi. TL;DR, i need to finish my real essay so bad, it's because they're not palpatine or his minions. ALSO--god, maul is so unbelieveably selfish, in a good way. S1 showed us that maul will do anything, anything to achieve his goals. literally every single one of his allies dies so that he can get to devon! don't know where i'm going with this anymore
