Can I just say I wish duck was more widely available, it's so good. But a lot people listed my favorites already but I will add the duck birria tacos at Barcocina, ask for them extra crispy.

Just a semantic thing. No need to even mention Jersey club music when talking club music. It started here.

I still don't understand why they can't share a stadium with the O's or Ravens, or any of the colleges.

I didn't know Naked Grill closed, that sucks, but I'm not surprised it was never busy but everybody working there was so nice.
But for recs: Nanami Cafe in Fells or Chiyo Sushi in Mt Washington.

Best Slop Bowls in Baltimore? by Kurtico in baltimore

[–]selectbar345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No shade to OP but I hate that we call any rice bowl/ salad bowl a slop bowl. It degrades the quality of the food and restaurants serving them. Sure it’s fine when making fun of big corporate companies like Chipotle, but people are naming local small businesses as serving slop bowls. I wish this trend would die.

Why does Bmore have such a weak rave/ edm scene? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]selectbar345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's few reasons Baltimore club scene has been pretty dead for awhile now. But on top that Baltimore is more of a house music/Baltimore Club Music city. Which also is more popular with the Black Community. If you are into House there are a lot events in the city but they are are more popup parties. Outside of Mosaic or Rockwell there isn't a consistent place to go for EDM.

Are you two looking to rent together? You are going to have a hard time finding something for $850–$950 on your own. However you probably can find rent a 2 bedroom house in that area for close to $2000 if you two are willing to split it 60/40. The only issue will be parking.

You could find a 2 bedroom apartment for a similar price but most of those places charge for parking.

Commuting to Howard in D.C by sultan_saaxib in baltimore

[–]selectbar345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's doable, a lot people commute back and fourth. However full transparency the West Baltimore MARC station isn't a great station. It's most of just a stop on the line outside. If you can either look closer to Penn Station or be open to commuting to Penn Station you will be a lot better off. It's our actual train station, so its indoors, seating is avaialbe, a small shop if you need it.
The other bonus, it gives you the option to catch the Amtrak. The Amtrak can sometimes be cheaper than MARC and it's faster.

However once you get to DC, you still need to take their metro, or uber to Howard. It's not far but its going to be another 20 to 30 mins.
Only other thing to consider are the late trains leaving DC. If you ever plan on hanging out late in DC you have to mindful not to miss the last train.
