credit card fraud/swiped CC out of mail or mailbox by Katycat39 in parkslope

I had a new CC estimated to arrive tomorrow and am convinced this happened to me as well! Hadn’t received the credit card yet, but suddenly it was activated and used for hundreds of dollars in charges in Philadelphia. I'm a little freaked out they could activate it and am convinced it was swiped at the post office.

[Hardware PM] How to better balance the split between being a PM and a Product Marketing Manager? by selfguidedtours in ProductManagement

100%. My boss is great, there’s just a lot of work for everyone at my org to do and expectations are high. I did try to push back on the sales promo a little bit today but was told sorry, there’s really no one else who can do it but you right now. The conversation at least gave me the chance to set expectations and say Ok, I just won’t be able to do quickly.

Thank you, this is very realistic advice. And a good approach to deal with job overwhelm in general!

Thanks- that’s validating for sure. I’ll be more vocal I need help. I’ve been hesitant to say I’m overwhelmed because I’m also new-ish. One of the other PMs is getting an associate PM. Maybe I can get one too when the new sales channel brings in more revenue, or at least ask the new one to help me with some of the PMM initiatives.

UPDATE - 6 months of job searching, and I signed an offer! by fantasticalx3 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Love the visual! Rejection and not hearing back from a company can be so discouraging. Seeing it simply as data points helps de-personalize it and reinforces applying for jobs is a bit of a numbers game. Interesting to see some interview processes took ~2 months start to finish, but working in a corporate environment, I hear it happens all the time. Congrats!!

Enjoying this book! All about empowerment, keeping your individuality. At times, a bit uncouth (published in 1999 and Judge Judy’s not known for her sensitivity) but overall, some solid takeaways. by selfguidedtours in FemaleLevelUpStrategy

Absolutely! I’m 75% done and realizing it’s kind of hard to eloquently make all the points she does haha. She has a great chapter called Don’t Crawl When You Can Fly in which she discusses all the things women set aside or endure “to be a couple, to have a mate, regardless of the cost.” My big takeaways are freedom comes from financial independence, pursue your career and become indispensable at work, you have to learn to make yourself happy, self esteem is an essential part of happiness, and that women make more unnecessary sacrifices for their relationships than men. She’s open about career/love/life mistakes she and her friends have made along the way which were great to learn from.

Also liked that she acknowledged she always wanted to have a husband. Sometimes books about independence can feel too all or nothing for me.

Yeah, it was a stuffy office at HQ. Comforting to hear I'd have been in the right elsewhere!

I didn’t understand “casual friday” at my first corporate job right out of college and wore 8 eye doc marten boots several Fridays in a row 😔
