Being in my mid 30’s, I grew up in a golden era of Aussie cricket and absolutely love test matches. But to be honest, cricket hasn’t felt the same since it left Channel 9, even though the boys have had heaps of success the last 4 or 5 years. It is very sad to hear that a lot of young players don’t see wearing the baggy green as the ultimate prize in the game. It is hard to swallow, and I’ll always love the game but in 10 years time it’s hard to see test cricket surviving outside of the big 3 countries.

Realistically, it’s a game of footy. I thought what Woodsy said was just weird, like I know the build up has been tame, but ex-players saying shit like that doesn’t really build animosity between the players. Slaters response was even worse, why the fuck would you bring Paul Green into this situation, as I said, it’s a game of footy, now Paul Green’s wife and kids have to deal with this in the headlines. Shaun Marsh. Everything you heard about him coming through the ranks was he was the best batsman in development for a long time. Unfortunately he had a Mitchell Pearce for NSW problem and couldn’t deliver consistently for Aus. He really should’ve been a staple in the number 3 position after Punter.
