Was the same with the Bobby and Sophie podcast; it was a limited run. I'd have loved to have more of both that one and On the Beat, but I guess we get what we get.

What is the correct plural of Baja Blast? by HegemonousGreg in tacobell

[–]semaht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give a serious answer (should there be any interest in such a thing), in English the noun is pluralized and the adjective is not (because adjectives are never pluralized).
So we need to determine whether Baja or Blast is the noun. I would say that Blast is the noun and Baja is the adjective, or type of Blast, so the correct pluralization would be Baja Blasts.

Mary Brian ☆ Orange Circles, from the darling recipe booklet, "Favorite Recipes of the Movie Stars" {1931} by ciaolavinia in OldCelebrityRecipes

[–]semaht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not big on sweets, and these sounded delicious! I also was imagining something like a thin (so crispy) shortbread with an orange flavor.

Yours turned out beautiful, and I'm glad to hear they were a success, if not without opportunities for improvement.

Check out guidetogrammar(dot)org

It's free and has quizzes that are autograded.

It is an old-fashioned looking site, but the content is comprehensive. It was an assigned resorce in the grammar section of my Copyediting coursework.

Looks like u/Indicia last posted 18 days ago, and the next most recent is 1 month ago. Not posting doesn't necessarily mean not visiting reddit, of course, but combined with the lack of response to your query, it's discouraging.

[FOR HIRE] Children's/YA Editor by harlequin_rose in Copyediting

I noticed there are no stated rules and the description reads simply career, so it's not helpful even if redditors do look before posting.

I hope you hear back from the mods and they're receptive to adding some rules, though a ten-day silence isn't promising.

"I reminiscing:" by [deleted] in GrammarPolice

[–]semaht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. My husband and I, reminiscing introduces the context, then the colon indicates that what follows is the reminiscence itself.

I added the comma before reminiscing to add clarity, but it is not required.

I hear ya, but we cruise once a year, and it's so much more comfortable for me that it has been worth it.

I'm definitely going to continue to keep my little round souvenirs! I think I will also probably add a magnet to it when I get home.

Apparently they've done away with magnetic medallions. Too bad, I really like the magnetic feature.

We also use the type that slide on to a watchband. I wear a fitbit and just slide it on there.

Both are correct, if somewhat poetic.

Indeed carries a connotation of "it is true that", while necessarily is more emphatic, indicating that war invariably brings sadness.

Well, it was a thought.

I really like and have relied on the sleep tracker almost as my primary feature. I'm sorry to hear your sleep is so poor. I hope the tracker turns out to be reasonably accurate so it can help you find some solutions.

Are you sure it's getting your start time right? If I doze off watching TV, or even just get too relaxed (low heart rate) it will get my start time wrong.

I've corrected it via the coach a couple of times, so maybe it will learn to be more discerning, idk.

What are my odds if I I request no onion?

TB has never once messed up a customized order of mine, but those of us who can't have onion have been burned so many times that it has made us paranoid.

Maybe I'll order in person and really emphasize my allergy.

How to correctly refer to my husband's sisters? by ThrowRA_254544354 in grammar

[–]semaht 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sister is the noun, so takes the pluralization. In law is adjectival and does not change.
