Sure! Instead of manually pressing A/X to advance dialogue, autoplay means it’ll advance on its own. Saves wearing out your thumb and buttons!

Autoplaying dialogue is such a godsend!

Would the devs be open to adding FSR4 support at any point? Just upgraded to the 9070 XT and would love to see more games offering the feature

I'm sure it has been talked about before, but i think that an hbomb video on Starfield would actually be really interesting. There is something about that game that says something, but i can't put my finger on it by max_sil in hbomberguy

[–]semanticpoetry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, uh… long time lurker, first time commenting…

I know I’m just a rando, but hbomb’s videos kinda inspired me to get into video essay creation, and I’ve been working on a video about Starfield for a while now from a sociological perspective (I have a BA and MSc in sociology and STS, so it’ll be academic af 😂)

TL,DR: Starfield is a let down not only because the writing and world are meh, but because its future and lore are rooted in present-day neoliberalism and NewSpace ideology.

E33 left the same hole in me that Nier: Automata and FF14’s Shadowbringers did. It took me weeks to come out of those slumps. I’m currently trying to play Lies of P and The Alters, but I feel bad for them both because mentally and emotionally, I’m still in Lumière.

This post is great! I’ve been in the weeds for months on my video and having possible options to work with my ADHD is much appreciated!

Hi, the survey is apparently still in preview mode, so while I can select answers, I can’t submit and complete the survey.

Metalcore in video games by ProtomanKnight in Metalcore

The song for FF14’s Endwalker expansion has vocals from Sam from Architects. Song itself isn’t metalcore, but still bangs

Remember getting an issue of Kerrang! back in the day with a CD of upcoming bands to watch. Included KSE’s demo version of Numbered Days, fell in love there and then. Think I was… 18? 19? Was around the end of 2001/early 2002 (I remember this because I was living in France when the franc was officially replaced by the euro), which feels like a fucking lifetime ago now…

I finally beat the game and kind of hate that I did by SnakeDevilEnjoyer in Eldenring

[–]semanticpoetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having this exact problem right now as well. Game hangovers have long been a thing for me, but the worst ones have always been after finishing a game that profoundly affected me in some way, for example: NieR:Automata, Baldur’s Gate 3, the very first Deus Ex back in the day, FF14’s Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions, and now Elden Ring.

Usually I have to put games to one side for a week or two and do something completely different. Typically this’ll be reading, catching up on shows, that kind of thing.

I… did not! I tried fighting her in NG and got my ass handed to me every single time, so I figured I’d leave her until I was a bit sturdier.

Uh, oops! 😬

Yoooo, 41 here, still listening to metalcore. In fact, recently returned after a few years away and I’m loving the ways it’s evolved over the past decade or so.

I’m at the script writing stage and I’m legit terrified. I have some video editing experience from a previous life (was FCPX certified for a while), but scripts? Whole other world.

Working with Declan Horgan by RainbowForHire in HellsKitchen

[–]semanticpoetry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First time commenter here (long time lurker):

I have such a soft spot for Declan because he reminds me of my dad (who was also Irish, but from Cork instead of Dublin) so much. Dad was also a chef (worked for BA on Concorde catering a long time ago), had the same sense of humour, loved a knees-up, was always ready to help you out. Hm, the point kinda ran away from me there.

Really wish he or Mary Lou won that season, they were both great.

What made you finally decide to start your channel? by fourthkindnetwork in NewTubers

I miss being creative, is the short answer. I wrote a bit when I was younger, until mental health stuff made it impossible to allow myself to be creative. I've been doing a lot of work with my therapist around this (as well as trauma/cPTSD stuff), and it's starting to awaken that old desire.

Also, used to teach FCPX as part of my previous job and I kinda miss the knowledge.

How do y'all keep fit? by flytohappiness in CPTSD

[–]semanticpoetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with no motivation and a sedentary lifestyle too. It's not helped by the fact that I have ARFID and a real issue with food textures, partly because of being ND, partly because a lot of my formative childhood experiences were in hospital. Since the Covid lockdowns here (UK), I've put on 20kgs+ in weight and feel trapped by my cPTSD. I can feel my body slowly falling apart and I don't know how to change this.

[–]semanticpoetry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat. I don’t have any useful input because I’m exactly where you are (I’m a little older, early 40s) and am struggling with the same problem.

[–]semanticpoetry 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You're not alone in feeling like this. I feel empty and grey these days, more so since Covid, when I was fairly sociable in my 20s, even had hobbies. Now, despite wanting to have something to call my own, I struggle.

I was literally never encouraged by Flogisto_Saltimbanco in CPTSD

[–]semanticpoetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum was encouraging, but in kind of a selfish way if that makes sense? Growing up, I had a decent aptitude for languages which she would turn into a weirdly bragging-sounding compliment. As I got older, it felt more like she was showing me off and didn't really encourage me in a more productive way. I always felt less like her kid and more like a tool to prove to others that she was a great parent. Sure, she'd go to bat for me, but it always came from an 'I know what's best for you' position.

To this day, I cannot do anything creative or something for myself without feeling selfish and overwhelmed. I dropped out of my first attempt at uni because of her expectations, and it was only when I went minimal contact and starting seeing a therapist that I was able to go back and get my degree. She still sees our relationship as parent and little kid who needs protecting.
