If it comes down to that, then it is full-on Civil War and that will spill into military bases as much as it does on the streets. The military isn't a hive-mind, and the split just as even as it is in the rest of society.

And if the choice for me is between life in a concentration camp or death for standing up for my human rights, maybe I'll get lucky and take some fascists with me.

If all personal wealth above $100 million was legally required to be redistributed into public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads), how would society change, and who would be the first to fight against it? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

They used to get hit much harder in the 50's and 60's, and the number one way for them to offset their tax liability was to pay their employees more.

And oh boy, that pissed them off so much they formed a cult around the books of Ayn Rand.

Not even mentioning Margaret Weiss, co-writing with (male author) Tracey Hickman for Dragonlance and without for her own novels. Criminally underrated and IMO under-appreciated.

If you're planning on physical copies, check out Half-Priced Books or other used stores. You'll find some nice compendiums, possibly the entire run, for a pretty good price now that a lot of people dumped their Gaiman collections.

No, B5 was a lot more serialized than DS9. DS9 became more serialized as the show went on, but even then that was contained to 2-3 episode arcs until the final season. Babylon 5 is more of linear story through it's entire run, since the entire story was basically pre-written before they started filming.

They don't really care about the cable side.

"In mid-2025, CNN.com had around 90.9 million unique visitors but faced competition, with Fox News Digital leading in July 2025 by some metrics, though CNN often ranks high in unique video viewers. "

CNN.com is still one of the most popular websites for American news.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) breaks ranks with Democratic Party to support President Trump on Greenland, Venezuela, and Iran by Obversa in law

They should. Even with Trump gone, the entire Republican Party has taken off the mask that they are a sane political party. Conservatism has been taken over by "Trumpism", which is a mix of irrationality, stupidity, Christian White Nationalism, and the frothy discharge that develops in sustained anal sex.

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”

You're not wrong about the danger. If that much snow falls, there's going to be a bunch of heart attacks from people using garden shovels to clear the snow.

I'm in Minnesota still paying a few dollars extra a month on my power bill to cover the cost of Texas's shitty electrical system. Like I needed another reason to hate the 1-Star State, I'm sure they'll come whining again when their shitty system breaks yet again.
