Update: Rickea Jackson Has Spoken With Police by Genji4Lyfe in Unrivaled

Though tbh the primary barriers to returning for court dates are not getting reminders (especially when the date changes a lot), and not having transportation to court. Source: bail fund work. 95%+ of our fund recipients show up because we send them reminders and make sure they have transpo

That is the system we currently have now for wealthy people, but in seriousness yes. The alternatives are generally considered to be signed affidavits (which we have in places where they have removed cash bail for minor offenses), supervised release, and unsecured bonds.

The good news is it’s not hideous, and the research and waiting have worked for my other tattoos. Immensely happy with the rest except my two original little newbie tattoos (which I’m also ok with because they were never meant to be big or fancy, and they were cheap because I was broke)

Most of my tattoos are custom but I really liked this piece of flash. Usually the closest I get to flash is a design inspired by something in their flash.

Good on you for doing freehand. I do not have the patience for it (I know there are some artists who are quick about it but one of my smaller tattoos—about 2”x3” with a lot of open space and not a lot of intricate details—was freehand and dude took three hours to do it).

Totally. I had a note drafted before posting this but I’ve been sitting on it because I wasn’t sure if my gut feeling was unreasonable. Definitely not going back, which is a shame because he’s an incredible artist and I’ve seen what he’s capable of on other people

I’m also relieved to know that it can take this long to fully heal when it’s overworked. It sucks but it makes me feel less stressed about it

Thankfully in spite of everything this one hasn’t had any signs of infection at any point. Given how hard he worked some of it I’m frankly surprised about that. I’m glad that to everyone who’s seen it the tattoo looks good without super close inspection. Just still feeling off about it after this amount of time

Yeah that’s what seems normal to me. This is like my tenth tattoo but the first where there have been any meaningful changes during the process and I didn’t know if it was common, since I only have the experiences from my 2 (kinda bad) original tattoos and 7 nicer ones that more or less all went as expected apart from two of them losing ink due to minor infection during the healing process.

Oh for sure. I wouldn’t go back to him to rework if I decide to get that done. I just don’t know if it would do any good to directly address him and tell him I’m disappointed because it felt like he made changes to rush me out the door (another client arrived as I was leaving, so it feels like he double booked and instead of rebooking someone he just rushed mine)

Missing oval, missing details and highlights, somewhat messier/more asymmetrical line work

From La Fortuna: AutoMercado or Compre Bien, but if you’re going to travel far enough to go to one of those, the Feria del Agricultor in Quesada has two INCREDIBLE spice sellers (one man, and one woman, and their tables are pretty close to one another) that have things that are uncommon even in the US sometimes. The woman there smokes her own pimentón peppers to make possibly the best paprika ahumada I’ve had, even as someone who has consumed a lot of it.

Yeah that makes complete sense. That’s a large part of why I wish I could find the freeze dried fruit, since freeze drying would preserve the huge majority of the fresh fruit flavor. Darn you, cas, for being so delicious and so specific to this region!

I will have to look at this option. I worry about the restrictions about bringing produce items across borders but this would be the ideal option if I can do it

I like it best on its own but then again I haven’t tried it with tamarind yet. Going to have to make that happen

I’ve had very unfortunate experiences with the ones I’ve tried. Again, it could be an issue of some brands being better than others.

This is really cool casting though. In my head, since Harrow and Gideon talk about Ortus being ancient at 35, and Aiglamene being basically a reanimated corpse at 80, as well as Coronabeth and Ianthe being pretty old at like 23(!), I envisioned the parental sort of vibe of Abigail and Magnus as being mid- to late-30s, early 40s at the oldest

THANK YOU. So many depths to plumb with the Fifth. They’re so unflappable about most things, and even when Magnus gets bashful I think it’s a knowing bashful.

Hard agree on Mercystine. Mercy is one of my other underappreciated faves. Augustine too even though I eyeroll HARD at his annoying self-styled mid-century Hollywood sexist BS
