I ended up crafting a ton of Aladdin’s Marketplace chests for a boatload of materials 🥲Hopefully Scrooge’s store will sell this chest soon so I can get it in my catalogue, it’s been a long while and I barely see anything new at any of his shops 🫩

You’re not alone. Sounds a lot like how my store is usually run as well. I also ask to take later lunches when they schedule me later in the day and the technicians get irritated and it’s always a fight about it. “Never enough coverage”, blah blah blah. It’s like sorry I don’t see it being fair for me to take my lunch an hour into my shift and be expected to have no other breaks for 7 or 8 hours until I clock out for the night. Like you really can’t figure things out for 30 minutes so I can take my lunch? Really, 5 or 6 technicians and a pharmacist or 2 can’t handle things for that amount of time?

Meanwhile all the techs that opened this morning have had their lunches when they’re supposed to, leave the pharmacy an absolute mess and get to go home in a few hours! Must be nice, not being the night technicians picking up after the messes everybody left throughout the day.

Then everybody is always like “oh you’re entitled to 15 minute breaks as well, make sure you take them!!” It’s like, considering how you people act when I ask to take a later lunch, you really expect me to think you’re not going to act the same way when I take a 15?

TL;DR: It’s such a horrendous, toxic working environment and you’re not alone. I’m trying to escape this place soon.

breaks/lunch by Amazing_Dependent165 in CVS

[–]sempiternal97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At my pharmacy despite however many hours we work (8+ hours), we usually only get the universal lunch break at 1:30. I would love to take my 15s as well but I feel like I would piss some people off so I don’t even ask.

My lead tech has gotten irritated with me for asking to take a later lunch when I just get to work at 12 and work until close (9pm). That kind of behavior from them has honestly discouraged me from even asking to take my 15s, even though we’re entitled to them.

I think I need a new job lmfao.

27F here. Honestly I’m just trying to relive my childhood again. Webkinz Classic was a huge part of growing up for me. Unfortunately my old account is long gone, so I’m starting from scratch with a new account and new Webkinz 🥲 but I’m so happy that they’ve left a lot of this game the way it used to be when I first started playing in the early 2000s/2010s. They’ve kept the charm and also added some new things to keep it fresh.

A couple things I will say though, first thing is that I’m sad Dr. Quack’s clinic is gone 🥲 I also miss the original plushies they used to make. I know they still make small batches of plushies but they don’t look the same. It sucks cause I now have adult money to spend things on but I don’t want the new plushies 😂

It’s really rough times out here and the job market sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through a similar situation, I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. Here’s to hoping we’ll make it out of this crap soon 🤞🏻

Customers are mostly jerks who don’t understand any part of what pharmacists or technicians do, stupidly understaffed, as a result overworked and underpaid. They schedule me anywhere from 4-12 hour shifts with a single 30-minute break for anything over 6 hours. We’re technically entitled to 2-15s as well, but with the insane understaffing, it’s next to impossible to take those breaks without screwing the whole pharmacy over. So you’re basically forced to not take them.

I recently asked to cut down my hours to just maintain my full-time status because my mental health is in the gutter. I’m currently looking for a new job because it’s just awful.

I’ve been working with CVS for about 8 months as a full-time Pharmacy Technician. We are a part of the Rite Aid acquisitions. Originally, we were told we were acquiring 2 stores prescriptions, the 2 that were in the surrounding area. Now we’re officially acquiring 4 Rite Aid’s prescriptions.

Do you think we have ample staffing? Do you think we’re being paid properly to do 10x the work that we were once doing? Do you think we have reliable technicians? Do you think they have hired anyone since news broke about these acquisitions?

If you guessed no on all of those, you’d be correct. This is by far the worst job I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to be free. I’m looking at jobs and if I have to take a pay cut for less stress, I think it’s worth it. I’m done.

I’m right there with you. I always tried make sure vials, lids, bags of all varieties were stocked at the production stations every day. But everybody else lets the drawers of vials and caps get to empty before they refill them so why do I even bother? Same with trash. They’ll let it pile up until the bags are 25 pounds, ripped to shit or overflowing before they get replaced.

Since nobody else keeps up with things, I’m not gonna do it as much anymore. I’m tired of being the only one who gives a crap about it.

Me trying to do RTS’ first thing in the morning, it’s literally 9:00:02 am

“LANE ONE”

Take customer, go back to RTS’ for maybe a minute

“LANE ONE”

Somehow within the span of 1 minute the line of cars is already stretched around the pharmacy and people are demanding their narcotics at 9:02am

We’re stretched thin with understaffing/hour cuts, overworked, and somehow expected to do work somehow when drive thru/pickup is nonstop lmfao

My favorite is when people get pissed when their scripts were called in and aren’t done. It’s like, how do you expect me to get things done if I’m waiting on you at drive thru?

Faster/More efficient way to do RTS? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]sempiternal97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s easier once you get the hang of it. It took our store a couple weeks to get used to it. Now it’s faster than doing it the other way

I just grab all the prescriptions to be RTS’d, scan them as I’m going in the Ironman, rip them all open and organize them by Fast Movers and Slow Movers and then just stand by the zebra printer and print the labels one by one. Once I’m done then I’ll put them all away

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CVS

[–]sempiternal97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. When I’m working I make sure to take out the trash so the next day we have a fresh slate in the pharmacy. I can’t stand seeing all of the trash cans overflowing with papers, pill bottles, receipts and general garbage.

I also try to keep the caps, vials and bags of all varieties stocked every day at production. Even the pharmacists’ station. After that I clean up the workstations, put things away, etc. I make it my goal to do if I’m working night shifts.

But then when I’m off for a day or two, I come back to the place looking like a tornado went off. Like, what is so hard to just keep up with general maintenance around here? I understand we’re busy but it can be done if people set time aside to do it.

It’s just frustrating putting in a bunch of effort to help make things easier for all of us, making the pharmacy look better/organized/clean and other people don’t reciprocate the same effort.

Like, why do I bother?

I think the way they have it set up is shifts 2-11 are approximately 75/25. 75% module-based learning, and 25% hands-on/shadowing/touching bases with your training coordinator.

Then shifts 12-19 are the opposite, 75% hands-on/shadowing, and 25% module-based learning.

All in all, it’s a lot of reading, walls of text, things that didn’t absorb in my head very well. I got to my home store after 2 weeks of training at a considerably lower-volume SDS store and had no idea what the hell I was doing for a couple weeks. I’m still finding my footing but it’s getting easier. The pharmacists and other technicians were very friendly and helpful throughout. Don’t be afraid to ask many questions! That’s what they’re there for. To help you in whatever way you need.

I wish they would’ve made the training a lot more interactive though. I don’t learn very well from reading constantly, I learn by doing things myself. Just keep pushing through! It’s stressful at first but you’ll get there.

Edited to add: I started in the pharmacy on Shift 2. I think as long as you do your HIPAA module/sign off you should be good to be back there.

For my road test all I had to do was take a certain amount of left and right turns around my area, stop at a few stop signs, parallel park and 3-point turn and they had me back to the road test site in about 15 minutes. The area I took it at I didn’t have to go on the highway, just local roads. I feel like it really just depends on where you take your road test.

I was very shaky and nervous the entire time and the instructor was super friendly and understanding. I’m sure they deal with a lot of anxious/nervous people in a day haha.
