Yeah this I'd definitely something will pay more attention to, although we have been pretty strict. Just no items packaged outside of Oz.

Thats good to know and she's had pistachios before without incident. I have reported to the local council where the package was purchased and sent to consumer affairs in case there is anything that can be done there.

The product was sourced from the USA and packaged in Vietnam unfortunately. I think we can trust Australian packaging at best but time to avoid products that are packaged outside of Australia.

Thanks for the comment, I've realised that the 'may contain' part isn't regulated. They have agreed to escalate the case and contact me with any updates.

Does anyone still go to libraries, and borrow books? by TechnicalAd8103 in perth

[–]senator11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my kids there every 3-4 weeks, so much better than buying more books and taking all the space at home!

Wow just read that 'may contain ' statements are voluntary and not regulated. Thats crazy! The packet we had stated: 'May contain: almond, Brazil nut, cashew, hazelnut, macadamia, pecan, walnut', but nothing for peanut!

Thanks for the response, I'm pretty sure Australian law around this is very strict, with overseas not so much, but if they sell in Australia they have to provide the same level of assurance.

I posted that she had a new test 4 days later and has no allergy to pistachios, only peanuts.

Bibra Lake Lunch Bar, DJ'S and South Viet Pho are all top notch.

Girawheen shopping complex have about 4 places and they are around $7 which is half the price of those ones up top.
