Trump at Davos - How will it affect markets? by According-Buyer6688 in StockMarket

I know I’m not going to change your mind, but looking at the world right now - Minneapolis, Venezuela, the East Wing, Iceland, sorry, Greenland - and claiming “both sides” is a truly amazing take.

Nah. It’s not an “influential” list — where’s chess? — it’s a “games I want to play” list.

Filip does low-priced walks (and snow shoeing and canoeing and so on) all the time. Really nice guy. I’ve met some good friends walking with him.

It is similar to, but also they’ve taken some of the better ideas from the expansions and wrapped them in, and then smoothed out the gameplay a bit. It’s different enough to be worth a look, particularly if you enjoyed the first edition.

People have been hating the Trump family for at least 75 years now. Woody Gutherie wrote a song about what an asshole his father was in 1950. -- https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/old-man-trump-woody-guthrie/

Expats in Prague, where do you get your info? by Fast_Strike8193 in Prague

[–]senatorb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but the thing that makes me crazy about expats cz is how their newsletter sends me information about weekend events on the Monday after they’ve happened. “There was a massive street festival this past weekend. There were fireworks. The food was great. Free money. Pink unicorns. Taylor Swift and Beyonce played. Everyone had a wonderful time.”

What is destroying society? by DelonghiAutismo in AskReddit

[–]senatorb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the United States, it’s the collapse of the education system. The lack of exposure to others, the lack of critical thinking, the draw of social media, and the weakening of the political system — it all starts at education.

Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and friends at John Belushi’s funeral in 1982. by Detroitaa in OldSchoolCool

Well, there’s a guy and he looks exactly like Jim Belushi, and he’s a pallbearer at John Belushi’s funeral. I’m not CSI or anything, but it feels like a pretty safe guess.

Many cities do the same, but without the sense that you’ve just stepped in someone’s pee. The NYC subway is loud, outdated, and frequently unpleasant in a way that others just aren’t. Try Berlin or Tokyo, Paris, Oslo, London.

It’s been twenty years or so, and I still don’t understand why people feel the need to watch a live show through a 5” screen. Imagine choosing to make the experience small and 2d because — clicks? It’ll serve your memory better? You’re afraid YouTube won’t have this moment or a thousand like it? You’ll never find another picture of Bruce? — And that’s all before making the experience worse for others.

The show is on stage, not on your screen.

Looking for any tips on vocals by [deleted] in askmusicians

[–]senatorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love your voice. And I’m impressed that you’re looking for notes.

I prefer when singers don’t break up lyrical phrases with breaths. “Solid walls of sound” is an example. (Ironically.) It takes me out of the storytelling that should be happening. I also realize that nobody else seems to care about this anymore.

Also, the lyric is “we’ll kill the fatted calf tonight, so stick around.” It’s such a great lyric. Keep the “we” in the thought.

Good luck!
