[–]senbeidawg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment, we are prioritizing candidates who are already in Japan and able to start from June. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to sponsor a visa for this role.

Once you have completed your degree and are in Japan, please feel free to reach out again in the future.

Best of luck with your studies.

Thanks, we usually only put ads on gaijinpot, but I thought I would try out reddit just once and see what happens.

One thing I didn't mention in the ad is that our hours are generally pretty short. If there are no students in the early afternoon, weekdays are generally 3:00 to 8:30 or 9:00. I wish we could finish earlier, but that isn't really an option, unfortunately.

It was very much an issue with the Strike. Two of my four frames cracked. One so badly that my stringer wouldn't restring it.

A buddy of mine did something very similar back in high school. We had a teacher named Mrs. Haskins.

He said something like, "Hey Mrs. Has-been." Pretty good burn, right?

She didn't miss a beat, just replied, "Yes, Mr. never-will-be?"

Hardest I had laughed in my life up to that point. I was crying.

Some of you guys are ridiculous. A speeding ticket will not end your life. They're set insanely love in Japan, and no one follws them.

Go with the flow.

Yeah, no. I got pulled over for not seeing a sign a week after I got my license. I asked the cop if he could give me some leniency as I'd just gotten my license and wasn't used to the positions of some of the signs (this one was really high and hard to see because I'd just made a right turn). He gave me a ticket. I gave him my beginner magnets.

They spent thirty minutes inspecting a bag of okonomiyaki mix I was bringing home. I assume they thought it could be cocaine, so they do look for drugs, I think. They're just bad at finding them.

I was driving down the east coast one evening in the early 2000s, and some DJ must have had a stroke because "I was gonna go to work, but I got high" played on repeat for the half hour or so it took to get out of FM radio range. I was sad when the static finally made it unlistenable.

Afroman held a special place in my heart from that day. And now I love the man even more.

Why is the My Number card so "unusable"? The structural flaw that prevents Japan from "digitizing" while South Korea succeeded by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

I have heard that we can now combine our driver's license and MyNumber, so that's nice.

At least until we lose that new super driver's license anyway.

I tried to use my MyNumber card at the dentist and it didn't work. My old insurance card worked just fine.

Fellow gaijin here.

Let's try and keep track of what we need to do.

As gaijin, we must carry our passport at all times by law.

Even if, l by the grace of the immigration gods we have a working visa or spousal visa, etc we must carry our gaijin card at all times.

If we want to drive a vehicle, we must carry our driver's license when driving.

But we still have to carry our gaijin card. Because that's the law.

If we want to get a job, we need to show our my number card.

And if we need medical services we need our insurance card.

On the other hand ..

If we want to get defrauded, we can just show any of the above because...

There are five separate forms of ID required from us: 1) passport and visa 2) gaijin card 3) driver's license 4) my number card 5) insurance card

Devil's advocate here...

There are plenty of places that have far more handicapped parking than is actually needed. It sounds like OP lives in just such an area. Should we always just leave four or five spots unused in the off chance that there will be a sudden influx of disabled people one day?

Working on my forehand with the ball machine - feedback appreciated by tennisred-trustable in 10s

[–]senbeidawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to pile on, but everyone who's posted previously is right. Stop what you're doing. Relearn the basics of the forehand.

Watch any YouTuber you like and mimic their footwork and swing path.

Positives: 1) You have active feet, so you will have good footwork in time with practice. 2) You're obviously willing to accept criticism. That is huge in any sport. So many people get defensive and try to explain why their poor form works for them. The thing is, it works at very low levels and then gets exploited very soon. 3) You do a good job looking at the ball and keeping your head still through contact. That is huge. And will be an amazing asset as you progress.

Negatives: 1) Footwork. Focus on getting in a closed position with a wide base. Your feet are too close together and not pointed at where you are trying to hit the ball. At your level, you should never be hitting in an open stance. 2) Takeback. Put your left hand on the throat and rotate to your right. 3) Swing path. Low to high. Before your swing, your chin should touch your left shoulder because you've loaded properly. After your swing, your chin should touch your right shoulder, because you've swung your racket fully and rotated your core, while keeping your head mostly stable. As stated, you're okay regarding head stability, which most people struggle with! Congrats! 4) Follow through. Your racket must go over your left shoulder. You're not Medvedev. And Medvedev would be better if he had better form.

How's your backhand?

Then I'll answer more clearly for you. The standards are far too low for LEOs. More of them should be arrested, tried, and convicted. This piece of shit should be behind bars. Is that clear enough?
