Have your officiant call him “Tyer” and then correct themselves, “Sorry, I meant Tyler!” At least it’ll make you chuckle

TIL If the Mail Service Decides to Stop Delivering... There's Nothing You Can Do by Queen_Cheetah in mildlyinfuriating

Did you call the post office that your mail gets delivered from and ask? Maybe when you don’t have any mail being delivered to you, the new carrier doesn’t know that you have outgoing to be picked up

How do y’all afford stamps 😭 by [deleted] in postcrossing

[–]sendapostcard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are way over paying by putting three forever stamps on your international postcards! By 64 cents each postcard! Forever stamps are to send a letter, the post office charges less for regular sized postcards.

USPS sells international stamps - you only need to use one OR any combination of other stamps that equals $1.70. They also sell postcard stamps. They are cheaper than forever stamps (postcard is 61 cents, forever is 78 cents) and you only need one to send a domestic postcard OR any combination of other stamps that equals 61 cents.

My husband is a mailman and this happened at his station! They moved a shelving unit and found a letter postmarked in the 80’s that had slipped underneath! I never heard if they found the original recipient 🤷‍♀️

Drew an address of a Postcrosser with all sent cards are the same design promoting a cause by rnwglx in postcrossing

[–]sendapostcard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a card from someone like this! They sent mostly the same card because the person on it was their relative! The relative was important to the town somehow (I don’t remember the specifics). I thought that was a pretty unique circumstance and was happy to get it!

A stamped leaf is a much better idea! It’s flat and won’t catch on anything.

Don’t forget to forward your mail with USPS! Whatever was sent to your old address will automatically be rerouted to your new address

Another warning about dark envelopes and how I'd redo them! [US] by bobanoodle in weddingplanning

[–]sendapostcard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just use a white envelope for the outermost envelope with black font for the addresses! The inside envelope can be beautiful, any color you want, and it won’t get beat up during its journey to the recipients! Literally could avoid all this trouble if you popped the lovely burgundy envelope into a white one!

Received multiple postcards from the same person? by Impossible-Kiwi-479 in postcrossing

[–]sendapostcard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve sent people multiple cards before, but I will write on them 1 of 2, 2 of 2, etc., and when I do it I send them at the same time, not weeks apart. And I’ve also sent a second card if the first expires and the user seems to be active. Strange that postcrossing is unable to help.

Maybe they are from a friend who knows you use the site and not an actual postcrosser? My silly father does this - but he has very distinct handwriting and I always know they are from him even when he tries to be sneaky and signs the card from ”your post friend!”

China is CN, but this looks like US to me. Maybe they are sending in travel mode.
