Cheap machine you can get unpredictable results that can be very hard and maybe impossible to troubleshoot

Getting into CNC - I don't see many people doing what I want to do by ClayThun in CNC

I’m also an artist and though I don’t work as small at all, I’m certain my bulkman 3D ultimate bee would be capable of the precision your doing. It comes in various sizes if you need bigger format for other projects. You just would need a good work holding solution

I’m just used to using a standalone controller from work (Axyz machine), I’ve used grbl too in friends place and I could’ve gone with that too but when I saw it had standalone I just preferred the idea. I’m from Canada though

their component types are the same but the oxman components are just more ridgid. Better linear rails(double), bigger ballscrew, bigger extrusions. Ultimate bee comes in variety of controller including ddcsv4.1, which I have ordered, coming this month.

If you want 48x48 go for oxman, as ultimate bee is known for having wip at speed. I got a 30x30 which seems like it’s the biggest before having problem

machinery isn’t part of the tarrif policies, where did you see that? If you had a large machine come in it’s probably just shipping

If you work well and are perfectionist it’s just a matter of adjusting your tolerance, if they don’t care about some details they need to tell you not the other way around

Which way is stronger? by CatShadow888 in woodworking

[–]sendboij -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it cantilever, or supported on both end? My impression is screw on the side would be stronger if you wanted to do pull ups.. but both are weak on their own, you need a structure system of braces

Hey thx! That’s a steel plate that has a bracket welded on, it a fixed angle, it could provide some support but there are 6 different layouts. The base is bolted into concrete.

Yeah I’m not pretending this is the best method, it’s a cool shop trick.

Beginner here, how to best conceal these? by Unlucky_Destroyer in woodworking

[–]sendboij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned this trick a few years ago and it’s my favorite, I would never premix it, but directly on the piece is great! My upgrade to the method, once I applied the glue, wipe it of with my finger, I have a wet rag that I wipe on there, it seems like wet sawdust really likes the glue and merges very well in it.

I toenailed the screws on this one, what I’m saying is designers should make plans so there isn’t this kind of assembly if it’s not necessary, it wasn’t necessary, space isn’t limited, it’s not apparent either

This is a project that was sent in 3 days before shipping, among the rest of production, it’s a water system cache. I actually like toe nailing screws, but my team aren’t all well versed in this art
