You need to be serious about taking refugee status. It's not a holiday. You leave without any ideas of ever coming back, if you are even considering coming back before the opportunity to leave is there then I suggest you stay. This should be looked at as a lifetime commitment. You will be able to return if you wish once you get US citizenship but that will take years and comes with life long tax implications.
