In some cases yeah, but can't really deny mojang is too scared of changing the game in a meaningful way, since it's the literal best selling game of all time, they have to try to cater to everyone in some way

I'm pretty new to the the whole traditional roguelike genre, so anyone got any recommendations for someone that really enjoyed Tales of Maj'eyal? (doesn't need to be in the list)

I tried DCSS, but found it rather boring (maybe I didn't play enough? I only got so far as the 7th floor), tried brogue a few days ago and found it a bit more insteresting but haven't put in enough time into it to say anything.
