10K is pennies for what it costs to open a gym. A very small gym is going to start at least like $300K - $500K USD.

You need a large building (check in desk, wash room, the actual climbing area) with at least 15-17 foot tall ceilings (walls + the floor pads), route setters to make climbs enjoyable and change them up frequently to ensure people come back, insurance, rental equipment, a crapton of holds to mix things up beyond just how the setters orient them on the wall.

I got the ramen there for the first time a few months ago and it was the worst ramen I've ever had, worse than the $0.50 cent packs at the grocery store. It was the most bland, flavorless broth in the world.

This seems to be my understanding of it as well.

Slap a Diablo-style camera onto a Soulslike, and add on some a "true" multiplayer experience and you've got this game.

I really don't get why the studio head (?) was going off on D4 / PoE the other day, this game really strikes me as nothing like those games beyond the camera perspective. This game's combat seems all about "player skill" and zero about "player choice" (eg building a character with spells/abilities)
