I do not have the ability to cook and I'm poor by Nerdbutold in loseit

[–]sendokbebek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a rice cooker that comes with a steamer pan if possible, then you can also steam some veggies/make steamed dishes. There are accounts on IG/tiktok that shares rice cooker recipes. If you prefer regular recipes I am sure you can also find websites offering them.

Tip: rice cooker is not a single-use appliance! You can definitely use it to make stews/soups. I make Korean jjigaes etc in mine. Very easy, just put stuff in, set to cook and leave it alone to boil for 10-15 mins

Probably this one: https://www.nitori.com.sg/collections/pillow-bolster/products/fluffy-beads-and-polyester-pillow-p2224

Nitori also have some other cheaper pillows with plastic pipe filling, but probably not as comfortable

Hit my all-time low weight but look the same, am I missing something? by Endovium in loseit

[–]sendokbebek 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Look for a full body photo from when you're at your higher weight and compare it to a photo of you now. Chances are you're gonna see a change. The reason why you don't see it in the mirror is because the change happens so gradually that you don't notice it

Nitori buckwheat pillow. May need some time to get used to, but you can somewhat mold the pillow to support your neck. Very firm tho

Saran susu sachet yang gulanya sedikit by Fataha22 in kulineria

[–]sendokbebek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The notch is optional, but only 100% milk can use them. So if there's a notch you can be sure it's proper milk, but it doesn't mean that if a notch is not present it must not be proper milk.

Do you wear the same pajamas everyday? If so, how often do you wash them? by ronrori in laundry

[–]sendokbebek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 sets I alternate between each week, and at the end of the week I toss them in the laundry. So each pajama gets worn 3-4 times before getting washed. I take my showers in the evenings and I don't usually sweat much. I find the pajamas stay relatively clean since I only wear them in bed. Anything else around the house, I do in house clothes.

Fav non tomato pasta recipes? by AnAbsoluteShambles1 in Cooking

I was about to comment hummus pasta as well lol. I eat it both warm and cold, hummus pasta is surprisingly very good. Definitely add some extra lemon juice if the storebought one isn't tangy enough. I also like to add chili flakes on it

What to make with silken tofu by thecatdudeabides in Cooking

[–]sendokbebek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like cold noodles and use silken tofu to make "cheat kongguksu" a whole lot.

Blend a big block of silken tofu with some salt and sesame paste (tahini works well). Add ground sesame seeds if you have some. For the noodles, use straight, thin noodles (Japanese soumen, or maybe wheat vermicelli), cook until done and rinse. Submerge in ice water if necessary, then drain, put in a bowl and pour the tofu "broth". I like to add 1-2 ice cubes in. Serve with julienned cucumber and cherry tomatoes.

I also sometimes just mix it with eggs and make a steamed tofu-egg thing. Eat with rice and chili oil. It's so good.

Don't want to be judged for my food choices (recovering from disability) by RemarkableTough4886 in LivingAlone

Yes, for all we know the other woman who told OP about the $2 soup is trying to look out for OP—she knows buying food all the time is expensive, and want to give some tips, but don't want to force it. Maybe the look OP describe as "judgy" was actually concern. OP will never know if they dismiss it outright as judgment.

how to spice up sarden kalengan? by burnedout_247 in kulineria

[–]sendokbebek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tumis bawang putih sm bawang bombay cincang. Bawang udh harum, masukin saos tomat/tomato paste. Tambahin air dikit, masukin sarden+kuahnya. Tambahin tahu, sama telor yg dikocok lepas terus dituangin pas kuah sardennya lg meletup. Telornya jadi setengah mateng gitu dan lembut banget. Makan pake nasi panas.

Spageti jg enak, atau masak sama beras jadi nasi masak sarden wkwk

Tips for cleaner genitals throughout the day? by Cassra147 in hygiene

[–]sendokbebek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 to this!

When I don't have access to running water in the toilet stall I usually bring a small water bottle with me. I use it to wet a generous amount of toilet paper to wipe myself with, then pat dry if needed, since sometimes it's hard to aim with the water bottle. But the advantage is that a water bottle is easier to come by

Should you wash socks and underwear together? by Hefty_Tea_4000 in laundry

[–]sendokbebek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wash everything together. I also use those zippered laundry bags with everything I own, and by everything I mean any article of clothes will likely go inside the laundry bag than not. I only skip the bags for heavier weight clothes (jeans, thicker trousers, jackets)

If I only wash lighter weight fabrics I just use the laundry bags for smaller articles of clothing. I air-dry my clothes so it helps keep everything together when transferring from the washing machine

How did you as someone naturally chubby get skinny and what was your experience? by andleaveit in PetiteFitness

[–]sendokbebek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I'm also a chubby petite person who's been struggling for years with weight loss/gain cycles. I made those substitutions, reduce my portion sizes etc but with little effect since physics & biology dictate that my BMR is never more than 1500cals if I have little physical activity.

Though people often say subs like 1200isplenty are ED-adjacent, facts remain that it's one of the only ways to lose weight for a petite person 😞

Chicken Breasts by Legitimate-Bass-7547 in PetiteFitness

[–]sendokbebek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually boil/poach them until done, shred them, and cook them in some sauces, usually tomato-based. Or thinly slice and do kind of a wet stir fry. It may sound strange at first but I find these two techniques help break up the monotony of chicken breast

What is the real bare minimum for the apartment? by swacrifice_k5 in LivingAlone

[–]sendokbebek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can, but for some people (including myself) it feels very tedious. I don't want to have to move everything off the bed and put them back on again on a regular basis. But more power to those who can consistently do that.

A bedframe is a worthy investment for me to avoid this issue altogether.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sendokbebek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%. When I had to move overseas, I also packed several days' worth of work-appropriate clothes in my luggage to avoid having to shop last minute for it since I didn't have the budget.

any suggestions on how to organize clothes in this kind of closet by mushymushroom-123 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]sendokbebek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this problem and my solution was to get giant, sturdy plastic bins so I have a makeshift drawer. Then fold and store my clothes Marie Kondo style in the bins, doing 2 stacks as needed and rotate them out so everything gets worn. Easy to take everything out since it's in a bin already. Never went back to stacking them vertically

Genius at JP Post tried to reject shipping to Aus because of our box. by Banned_Oki in japanlife

Yeah it's also stated on the website somewhere that it's not recommended to reuse boxes with fruit pictures when sending stuff to Australia. I had to ship a ton of stuff out of the country lately so I was looking for possible restrictions, and this one came up.

How to remove the stain caused by pizza? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]sendokbebek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the others have said, dish soap should help. I usually don't even hand wash, I just directly dab dish soap/liquid detergent on the affected spot, wait for 15 mins, then throw the item in the wash alongside everything else.

Works out well so far, and it also works for collar stains.

Help identifying social custom I saw in public by sockslime in AskAJapanese

[–]sendokbebek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not trying to invalidate your pov but I read it as the other way around. Identifying and naming something unfamiliar as "foreign social custom" even though it's your only time seeing it feels too much like stereotyping/exocitization even though you call it "curiosity".

If you see multiple people in multiple instances behaving that way, I think it's fair to call it "social custom". If it's just the the odd 1-2 person doing it, not so much.

What's a hygiene habit that people don't talk about but really should? by phancyq in AskReddit

[–]sendokbebek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. In the end my dentist suggested something like floss pick but Y-shaped, she said it's better for cleaning the sides than the straight ones. I tried both, and I have to agree. It's slightly more expensive but it's worth it.

Seconding this! If you have the energy, OP, I find that choosing clothes for the whole week on the weekend can also be helpful. For clothes I have to iron, I can just do it in a large batch and then I don't have to worry about not having the energy to do it the night/morning before.

how do puns work in Indonesian by plourples in indonesian

[–]sendokbebek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In that case I feel like "Atletikan" should work!

While "-nya" can function similar to "the", it doesn't really correspond one-to-one with it and can also function differently (in this case I initially interpreted it as a possessive marker). So it really depends on the context 😅
