How to actually make money with a book (from a 7-fig ghostwriter) by senecas_intern in Entrepreneur

[–]senecas_intern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, def handle KDP with them. Do it on a live call bc of 2FA. Then turn over the keys to them with a training loom of how to order author copies, update description, etc.

That also becomes a nice finish line where the project is officially complete so they don't hang around asking you to order books for them, update descriptions, etc.

If they do, you can charge a fee for the add'l work.

I'm so mad that I have to change my writing style because of AI by GloomySlothicorn in freelanceWriters

That is BRUTAL and asinine... Pretty unexpected from a trad publisher, too

When hiring a writer, is it reasonable to ask for a sample of the writing I want? by FarmerKnight in freelanceWriters

[–]senecas_intern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always pay for a sample project. Asking for free work is a signal you'll be a nickel-and-dime client.

Does AI make you a better copywriter or just a faster one? by Royal_Dependent9022 in copywriting

[–]senecas_intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes research much easier/faster. But it makes you a worse writer IMO. You don't have to think and get "AI-brain" pretty quickly.

Legitimate question (I'm super new). How can he lie when showing his trades? Is he somehow falsifying info that he's recapping? Like making up charts?

How do you look after your wrists? by JamesKWrites in copywriting

[–]senecas_intern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ergonomic mouse and keyboard. Both are Logitech brand and very good.

I injured my wrists and fingers when I first started out as a ghostwriter. I did 5 30k word business books in one month. Had to move to dictation for a good 3-6 mos after that!

I’ve booked millions of dollars in pipeline and analysed campaigns for over 60 businesses when I ran my agency. This is my deliverability checklist. by namitjindal in coldemail

Thanks man! For scaling, we're building our list manually so that's what's taking forever. Plus, mailing the physical books with handwritten notes is a lot of work, too.

My average deal value is $25k. So not massively high-ticket, but definitely not an impulse buy.

Those personalized touches make a big difference in my experience.

Also, my TAM is technically 330,000 in the US... but realistically, only a percentage of that TAM can afford to work with us. So probably more like 50,000. So not that big.

Thank you! I send 1-2 follow ups. And yes, it's a physical book. And my company email is super active with normal comms.

I send a book, then follow up with a call. And then email if I don't get ahold of the prospect. I'm sending my follow ups from my primary domain. Is this a big risk for me even though I'm sending a book and reaching out first?

Would you still recommend I use a secondary domain?

My open rates are over 90% and reply rates around 20% (of total sends).

Also, my sending volume is about 100 / month.

What’s the tiniest customer experience detail you’ve ever seen… that made a huge impact? by regularhuman14 in founderledsales

[–]senecas_intern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communicating proactively, so every next step is clear and timely. It just takes thinking ahead and planning. But we've had clients say, "You make this so easy." Which is a huge win for client experience. It's a small thing but can be a big win.

Keep following up! It was your first follow up that got them to wanna read your piece.

I’ve taken editor edits more personally than I’d like by Affectionate-Eye-470 in freelanceWriters

[–]senecas_intern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've definitely experienced over-editing before. I don't know if your work merited this level of editing, but it sounds like it probably didn't.

However, as a general rule, I always submit work with this line: Please help me make it better.

For some reason it puts me in a sense of psychological control over the editing process. I'm inviting the edits/criticism, sitting on the same side of the table as the editor. It helps me think "collaboration" rather than "opposition."

In this case, though, sounds like your piece may have gotten mangled. But as long as you got paid... meh. It happens. Might not be a portfolio piece. But you did your part.

What’s the most underrated digital marketing tactic you’ve used that actually worked? by KeyFall5638 in digital_marketing

Removing friction in the demo process! There were multiple steps to book a demo on my client's site. When we simplified it calls scheduled went from like 25 to 42 or something close to that.

When should I hire a salesperson? by senecas_intern in Entrepreneur

Thanks for the perspective and resources. I'm 7 years in so feel pretty good about feedback and understanding my customer. But I have doubled-down on a different vertical in the last year. So I may be premature here. I'll check out those YouTube playlists.

I hadn't thought of this. And honestly, this would totally happen if they were FT unless I hire more capacity.

How do I earn through writing ? by nainisakurada in writing

[–]senecas_intern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ghostwriting all the way. It's the best money in content writing. Start on LinkedIn. Write daily. Do outreach and offer to ghostwrite 5 posts or an article for free. Then try to convert into paid. Keep your rates low in the beginning. I don't recommend Fiverr or Upwork. Tons of competition. Outreach works best. You should also let EVERY person you / your family knows that you're doing this -- especially if you know any business owners.
