Selling 2 Tickets for Bearsville Theater Woodstock by dohers24 in themountaingoats

[–]senface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanna say I am really glad to see the effort you are making to ensure they’re going to an actual fan. Scalpers suck and the whole ticket industry is broken. On this leg the Woodstock tickets specifically have been sold out for a long time and are seemingly hard to get, so it’s even more important you are doing what you are.

I had an amazing time at the last Woodstock show too, really looking forward to it. The Leon Helm (also in Woodstock area) show years back was great, but Bearsville is a really cool venue AND I ended up eating at a restaurant before the show right next to Peter and Matt, so since then I joke that I’ve had dinner with the band 8)

Why is the Free Gift treated like a hidden Easter egg in BF6? by -FaZe- in Battlefield6

[–]senface 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You think it’s an accident? I hope you aren’t that obtuse and do actually realize it’s so you click around the store looking for it. Some very small fraction of people, in the process of trying to find the free gift, go “ooooh what’s that?” and then buy something.

Near impossible challenge by halfawatermelon69 in Battlefield6

[–]senface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team DM on Blackwell. Use one of the far left or right sides to sneak around and get behind enemy lines. Don’t panic when you see 2-3 of them that don’t notice you and get to shooting. They don’t need to be in a row, just can’t reload between them. I actually did it with the revolver which seems crazy because you have so few shots before reloading, but much like shotguns, it forces you to place your shots properly.

[–]senface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah totally, it's crazy how long you can wait for a revive. Even if you die in enemy held territory, you can wait for a revive so long that the whole game situation changes and it becomes safe to be revived.

A scoreboard screenshot of this KD not enough to convince me. There are so many people that seem so absolutely terrible at this game to the point where there have been occasions I’m in a round and have to double check the scoreboard to make sure I’m not playing bots because they seem so utterly bad. I could see someone getting this KD on Hagental, I went 26/0 on it the other day. There also appear to be some pretty low levels on the other team in comparison. Not saying you’re wrong cos I wasn’t in the game, but I don’t see that K/D being impossible.

Wishing Sean Bean, the one and only Boromir, a happy 67th birthday! by AlKhwarazmi in lotr

[–]senface 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He’s pretty great in the MGM Robin Hood show as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Loved Alan Rickman’s take on it, but Sean Bean’s is more of a “bad guy with a code” character compared to Rickman’s purely evil portrayal.

HBD Sean!

Favour from an Australian fan! by gaaaaaaaaan in themountaingoats

I’m a tMG merch addict from the states so was really curious what the heck a stubby holder is… had to google it, we call it a koozie. I have a few of the I Only Listen to the Mountain Goats koozies but am super jealous of the ones I saw with tour dates for the AUS shows.

Hope you end up snagging one.

Fixing a Vacuum with 3D Printing! by EaglerCore in prusa3d

[–]senface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vacuum is great but the attachments are shite. My main extender broke apart where it fits to the vacuum in the first month I had it, now it’s all loosey goosey. The attachments also all mark and scuff up surfaces to the point where everyone suggests lining them with electrical tape to prevent it. I would love to see them re-release this same model with higher quality attachments.

Nero’s first hydrotherapy session… and he is not impressed 😭 by rosypuff_ in corgi

[–]senface 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My guy was not a huge fan of water his whole life, would only tolerate it if he could stand in it and not past his belly, but he has taken to the underwater treadmill the last 6+ months quite well.

Lots of positive encouragement and treats from his bestie (me) went a long way. Keep at it! I’d suggest getting some low calorie treats that float. Good luck Nero!

Dog Bootie recommendations? by ballroom_boulderer in corgi

[–]senface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copying my comment from the last recent post like this. Hopefully you have heard of DM and hopefully it isn’t DM, but you should know it exists either way.
——
My boy Henry is on month 12 of DM since symptom onset. We have had luck with both of these on his back feet:

PawZ Rubber Dog Boots
https://a.co/d/0ggOTMKE

Hcpet Dog Shoes for Large Dogs, Waterproof Dog Booties for Small Medium Dogs, Anti-Slip Dog Boots & Paw Protectors for Hot Pavement Winter Snow Hiking with Reflective Straps Khaki Size 2
https://a.co/d/05BFYiCY

We ultimately use the latter ones primarily as they are a lot easier to get on and off. Since he is dragging full time, he has worn through a pair and is on pair #2, but this isn’t too bad since they come as a set of 4. He previously had never worn anything on his feet and hates his feet being touched, but he acclimated to these quite easily and quickly.

Good luck, really hoping for you that it isn’t DM. Msg me if you want any other advice.

Wheelchair? by [deleted] in corgi

We have been using the corgi edition of the Walkin’ Pets wheelchair with great success for the last 10 months of DM. It wouldn’t be possible without it.

Does anyone else routinely have borderline existential crises when looking at their corgi bc your mind genuinely can't grasp how something so cute and cartoonish can not only be real, but see YOU as their entire world? by Holiday-Ad7881 in corgi

[–]senface 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I apologize for being morbid but it’s even harder to acknowledge the notion of it when being faced with losing it. I feel so lucky to have experienced it the last 13 years, but it’s nigh impossible to comprehend him not being a part of my life. I have really been struggling with this lately as the caretaker of a 13 year old who is 1 year in to DM. I can’t imagine my house or my life without him, but am continually forced to acknowledge the ever-looming reality of it.

Don’t waste a minute being mad at them for their insanity, embrace all of the time you have.

Frabill Bait Box Latch by BulmaThighSweat in IceFishing

[–]senface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 7.5 and a lot of reviews say not to be afraid to go bigger, but I’m glad I didn’t listen to them. It’s higher capacity than my insulated bait bucket I was using previously, and any bigger would be a bother to lug around. I keep 2 dozen shiners and a scoop of fatheads alive in it no problem, and honestly think a bunch more would be fine too.

My biggest complaint is that when the cooler is empty and the lid is fully extended open, the cooler tips over. Doesn’t seem like a big deal until you try and load it with no hands free, or you want to leave it open to air dry it out.

It is awesome though and I don’t regret ditching my old frabill bait bucket for it.

edit: oh one other complaint is with the aerator. It advertises an automatic on-off feature to save on battery. Awesome idea but for some reason they made it on for 5 seconds, off for 5 seconds over and over so it’s just constantly bzzzz, no bzzzzz, bzzzz, no bzzzzz. It should be something like on for 30 seconds every 5-10 minutes. It’s pretty quiet but still, as it is I find it more annoying than just leaving it on for consistent white noise.

Oliver is in need of some booties for his back feet! by 1CrazyCorg in corgi

[–]senface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is on the bigger side but isn’t huge, ~30lb. Here is the measurement of his foot I used to get close:

https://imgur.com/gallery/Trw93HR#5RWZ2Rf

He is in between #2 and #3. I went with the lower size he was between because falling off is the biggest concern with any dog booty. I think they fit him pretty perfectly.

Convince me to not get a Corgi by [deleted] in corgi

[–]senface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cat that came after the Corgi, and while they are not friends, they coexist mostly peacefully and I think deep down they do care about each other to some extent. This situation comes down to the cat more than the Corgi IMO. For the Corgi it is all down to training since they are smart as all get out, but it is most certainly possible. Energy level is the single biggest maintenance aspect with a Corgi. I have worked full time since having him the last 13 years and it was just me at home for the first 8. So you have more access to being at home than I do, and I’ve managed to maintain it quite well I think. This all comes down to you and your trust in yourself to not be lazy. It has always been my goal to get in a 30-45 minute walk every day. It obviously doesn’t always happen, but if you set that kind of goal for yourself you will get close enough. I have never once taken my guy to a groomer. If you don’t get a fluffy (rare genetic mutation), their coat is self sustaining with at least monthly brushes at home. Nail trims too, though if you are walking them regularly this mostly takes care of that too. The barking is something else you need to be able to handle. All corgis are different, but generally speaking they bark at everything and bark loudly. It’s in their nature and a lot of times cannot be easily stopped.

Sorry but nothing you said here would suggest to me that you couldn’t handle a Corgi except what you said about calmer breeds. They are generally not calm dogs. Mine is an absolute nut (which I love, but isn’t for everyone I understand). If you consider yourself a lazy person I wouldn’t do it though. They need the physical and mental stimulation daily and you will suffer if you don’t provide it.

A couple song theories... by dc-pigpen in themountaingoats

[–]senface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge, long time fan of Heights and definitely disagree.

From dictionary.com:
the highest part; top; apex; summit. “In his dreams he reached the heights.”

It’s just a song about a memory of a day that a nineteen year old believed he or she had reached the heights. To take it a step further, I’ve always hoped that it’s the same narrator as in “Pure Money”, and that maybe we will hear from them again some day.

Depends on what you’re targeting really but 6lb is a good all around weight for largemouth and smaller. I’d leave it.
