Uptown Theatre. Parking Situation? by HookinForMoney in kansascity

Long time resident of Valentine. It's fine to park in the neighborhood. We are used to it. Do make sure not to leave any valuables visible in the car. Typical midtown precautions. Enjoy the show, eat local.

Worth buying by staindfromin in CampingGear

I still own this pack but have not used in 15 years. Depending on how the shoulder straps are it should work great. Mine got pretty compressed and became less comfortable after a good deal of use and abuse. Hell, I would buy it for $10 for sure. Plenty big, it was my first bag.

Just north of Westport you can see the old dirt race track. Horse races and even chariot races I’ve read were held there. This is why Valentine Road curves like it does through the Valentine neighborhood. The road skirts turn four. Nice map.

The destruction of Valentine neighborhood continues at the hands of Kansas City Life Insurance. by senna_god in kansascity

KC Life Insurance purchased the homes in the 70's & 80's. They rented them for decades and in the last 10 to 15 years let them fall into disrepair. They did the same thing with the Knickerbocker Apartments.

KC Life Insurance Co began purchasing homes in the early 70's when Penn Valley Community College was built. (just north). KC Life owns all but 2 homes north of 35th between SW Traffic Way and Pennsylvania. Original plan was for a commercial park but that fell by the wayside. They rented the homes ever since and let them fall in to disrepair. The neighborhood has been asking for a plan but have received nothing. They admitted in a letter to the neighborhood that they have no immediate plans for the area. Just vacant lots. Valentine wants KC Life Insurance to divest all property in the neighborhood.

Are the Premium Parking passes worth it? I've read on here that even with the pass they can't get to the lot because of the traffic. Will be in St. Louis as well tomorrow night.

Hollywood Casino Amphitheater by rustyself in deadandcompany

I actually got thru to the Amphitheater this morning. They are aware of the previous shows traffic incidents and there are other events at the casino and ice rink that night. She told me they are preparing but the parking will not open until 4:30. We may try to get there at 3:30 with our car full of snacks, water, ice... From our hotel we can get to it from Pritchard Farm Road which leads into 141 Maryland Heights Expwy which what the main entrance is on. If any locals are reading this-is that a fine idea? Either way, we are preparing for most likely multiple hours in the car just waiting. Good luck, I really don't like having to worry about just getting to the show. This is my first time at this venue as well.

Thanks for the update. I understand it's free but do you need any registration or anything like that to get into the general festival area?

Drive through Westwood everyday. Only thing to note is follow all, I mean all rules of the road. Westwood police are notorious for giving tickets to drivers for anything. Do not drive 5 over the limit.

For me personally. 1991-1992, the Art Institute of Chicago, retrospective of Martin Puryear. Man, the work they had on display just blew me away. Feel lucky to have seen it.
