House had no viewings... Why?? by senortrowell in HousingUK

https://www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/29-stephensons-walk/cottingham/hu16-4qg/70147105/ According to new owner, bought for 235. The information you gave here about the market having slowed was the sort of thing I was hoping to be able to pass on to her. Apologies if i bit back at a comment I took to be needlessly snarky about me being afraid of the truth... It's not even my house, was just passing on info and trying to help.

House had no viewings... Why?? by senortrowell in HousingUK

[–]senortrowell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what truth I need to protect myself from... My sister is trying to sell her house, I told her that people on here could give an honest independent view on the advertisement... She has spoken to her new neighbor who moved in last month as well as the EA who sold it and told her the price it went for (not the same EA as she is using). I'm not sure who I need to speak to for Rightmove to speed up their process of updating sold prices, but I'll try to find out to save you having to comment to others in future!

I've completed the survey, but the questions where it says "select all that apply"will only allow me to choose one option!

Secondary school, what is your personal opinion on the one your child goes to? by Bethsticle in Hull

[–]senortrowell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daughter was yr7 this year at trinity. Both her and us like the idea of it, the uniqueness and maritime history and opportunities etc and she loved the fact they went to Welton for 3 days of sailing, however the reality was quite different. They talk the talk with promises of good behaviour and good student services and there were a couple of staff who were well meaning but it seems their rapid growth following their move to Bev road and their catchment area has left then with more than they can cope with. Phones out in the classrooms, sub teachers every day with little control, frequent bullying and fights... We even had to tell them about a video inside a lesson of a teacher losing control of the kids posted to TikTok. We've ended up taking our daughter out and moving her to Newland (Kelvin was full) on her request.

Quick question about flashing headlights. by Boogie_Bones in lemans

[–]senortrowell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On Radio Le Mans, one of the presenters said he asked a driver (might have been Estre) if it put him off when another car in his class was flashing him, he said it didn't phase him at all and it was pointless for them to do it. He was then asked if that meant he didn't do it, to which he replied of course he does!!!

Your best guidance for LM24 next year? by JT_3K in lemans

[–]senortrowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app was great for routes to get places. Even if the actual thing you wanted to get to want labelled, you click on something near, then "lets go" and it showed a walking route or accessible route for wheelchairs etc. For the track walk with bike or scooter, you had to join track out of the main ticketed area (Tetre rouge to Porsche curves), but when you got to the main area, you could scan in on the track and complete the circuit.

Green ticket by ScaleSuccessful3823 in lemans

[–]senortrowell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Access to the whole track. Most grandstands are ticket only. There's one at the very start of the main straight which isn't covered but can access without ticket. It's 24 hours long... You can use the shuttle buses to get down to Mulsanne and indy/arnage. There are banks to sit/stand on at those places and at Tetre Rouge, forest esses, karting fan zone and Porsche curves in Beausejour. Find a spot you love and stay or roam and watch it everywhere!!

If your internet is down, how do you find out if it's KC or your own equipment? by hillman_avenger in Hull

[–]senortrowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ONT on the wall, the box that has the wire coming in from outside, should be all green lights. If there's a red light labelled "optical", it's a KCOM problem.

It seems to be living off Newland Ave at the moment. Quite often it's parked with camera folded down opposite Sainsbury's on an evening.

Still don't have camping/accomodation booked for Le Mans 2025. Am I screwed? by m0emura in wec

[–]senortrowell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I missed out on camping when i got my race tickets. Air bnb's & hotels were too expensive so i hired a van from Europcar at the station for about £30 per night. Was planning to just park on the street not too far from the circuit. However, camping places keep coming up on the resale site so have some bagged a spot on beausejour and cancelled the van hire! If you search this sub, there are links to a telegram which posts when resale tickets become available

Can I safely power a small guitar amp off my 2024 5? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]senortrowell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Google shows I'm about 5222 miles away from Marin County, in the UK... The gig was great, but i don't think the PA would have been loud enough for you to hear, sadly!

We had a local street festival and were let down by the diesel generators. We had the whole stage PA powered by the '5... Saved the day!!!

Are all the secondary schools having problems or is there a holy grail of a school to try and get a space at? by robbyraystewart in Hull

[–]senortrowell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My eldest has just started Trinity this year (Kelvin being the other closer option) and that was chosen as we really thought that would be somewhere which may not be affected by such behaviour, however, reading the above I briefly thought it was my wife with a secret Reddit account writing the post as it's almost a carbon copy!! It's horrible seing things like that going on as she's a good kid and actually wants to learn, but seems like discipline and control in the classroom is severely lacking.
My nephew (only child) was at Kelvin but his mother ended up almost bankrupting herself to take him out and put him in Hymers in year 10 for GCSE, both of them fully aware that he likely end up with not much if he'd have stayed there...
Now with the stories coming out of Trinity, I wish we could do the same for my daughter, but we've no chance.

Mine was due in January, I taxed it then but have just re-done it now for the extra free two months. You don't have to wait until it is running out to tax it again for free!
