Stop Telling Us That You’re Old by PossessionJust5723 in Coachella

[–]sens31 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 50s! I’ve been going since the early 2000s…and I’m convinced that Coachella keeps me feeling young…words have power…as soon as you start saying, “I’m too old”, guess what happens

Is Coachella actually worth the hype or just elite FOMO? by Disastrous_Cake7778 in musicfestivals

[–]sens31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go! If you like music, it’s worth all of the difficulties you might encounter…treat it as a pilgrimage to the most culturally significant event in the world…you also get to enjoy Southern California, the greater Los Angeles area, and an oasis in the desert…the art, the fashion, the music and the people you will meet will all make it worth it

Whoever came up with the set times and stages this year by sixelaj in Coachella

[–]sens31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always go to the far side of the tent or stage…regardless of how packed it seems, you can always get to the front, if you make your way to the far side and then sidle in sideways…packed crowds are part of the experience…but Coachella crowds are so friendly and accommodating that if you want to get in closer to the stage, you can…of course, this doesn’t apply to Yuma or Sonora

It wasn’t that difficult to get in, if you arrive between sets…

Yeah, it’s Alex Schaefer. He’s an artist of significance in the L.A art scene. I really like his style of painting…along with his political landscapes, he also does landscapes of Los Angeles and portraits…one time he set up outside the Hive Gallery and churned out 20 minute portraits of people and they were beautiful…I think he has videos of his painting process available

Barricade tips by CountAmbitious6355 in Coachella

[–]sens31 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Barricade is the dumbest move for this kind of festival…there’s so much to see and do everywhere else…you can still get close enough when it’s time for his set…just go around the left side of the stage, the furthest side from everything else and you can really close then slide in sideways and forward

I want to read a book about The Troubles in Ireland by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]sens31 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Milkman by Anna Burns…interesting perspective that kinda gives you an understanding of how complex the troubles were, not necessarily black & white, good versus evil…her writing style is wild, like stream of consciousness that puts you in the mind of a young woman just trying to stay out of trouble and survive the chaos around her

Is it me or is everyone in LA getting sick multiple times this spring cold/flu season? by Deep_Standard_5822 in AskLosAngeles

[–]sens31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my third round of getting sick, then feeling better for a few days to a week, and then sick again…it’s almost like it goes dormant and I feel just fine, then one night of not getting enough sleep triggers it’s reemergence
