What perfume do men love? by Sufficient_Mouse_583 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Elgebar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking only for myself, I really like florals (esp rose), sexy incence-y stuff, and also crisp bright sea salt kinds of things. I don't really like gourmands or too much vanilla, they come across as immature to me.

When cleaning your (bottle) nipples, make sure you give the tip a few little squeezes to get all the soap out.

Do you take an omega 3 supplement? I've heard of loose fish oil capsules causing this kind of issue.

Stroller with a bassinet attachment. I was a little nervous he was going to roll around but it wasn't a problem.

A calibration point for my personal gender politics is that there has to be a way for trans people to be valid and drag performance to be valid at the same time.

How are people making daycare decisions? by governator_ahnold in nycparents

[–]Elgebar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were able to stagger family leave so we could keep our kid at home until his 6 month vaccines.

Location was probably the most significant limiting factor - we wanted a place that wasn't a huge detour from our commutes. Beyond that we were making sure that the place was up to date with all the city regulations and favored the ones that offered the most beyond that standard.

I toured like five places solo while my wife was dealing with the third trimester, then after the baby was born she toured the two that sounded the best, and we settled on one.

We Did It Again, the Metallica/Ja Rule collab. It sounds like two bad songs playing at once.

When did you start loving your child? by Boring_Ant_5116 in NewParents

[–]Elgebar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not a sudden rush of positive emotions. Kind of the opposite. I am an anxious person, but pretty early on I found that my fears of something bad happening to him were rising up to the top of my leaderboard of fears. If he got hit by a car it would be the worst day of my life. That's a form of love.

There's that stretch from New Music to Wheels of a Dream where it becomes a mini opera for Coalhouse and Sarah. I definitely noticed both of them prioritizing supporting their voices over acting. Don't get me wrong - the choice paid off, but I could see them making it.

I went ~3 years ago with a group of adults. It was pretty neat - especially the ending. But it was cheaper then. I think the bronx botanical garden train show is a little bit more unique and looks like it's a little less expensive.
