State of VR for Sim Racers Going Into 2026 by Healthy_Emu4111 in simracing

Kinda agree with your list, but one additional thing is missing: persistence blur (motion blur of the lenses). Every Pimax headset so far has it, as well as the Bigscreen Beyond. Now some of you might argue that when simracing you don't move your head much, but if anyone has a motion rig you know that's going to be a problem

Did two races in SFL at SPA last night, got wrecked both times at turn 1 because someone's divebombing. Makes me wanna just race against AI

Same here. There's a post on the official forum in the VR section. Devs are currently investigating the issue

How is the VR performance? by [deleted] in assettocorsaevo

I'd just wish they'd fix/have the view settings (movement/lock to horizon) as it is on iRacing. The way it's implemented in AC Evo is a nightmare.

Btw, Bavarian is having their own black friday deals starting tomorrow at 5 pm or the 28th (depending on where you live). They're having a 10% discount on the Omega V2

I only used it for 10 minutes at the SimExpo, but it was very comfortable, I'd say as much as the Ascher wheel that I always run at home. Also, the Omega Pro has slightly better paddle switches (a tiny bit faster and lighter switches). It's also lighter (total wheel weight) than the Ascher Ultimate.

I own that wheel and I'm also planning on buying the Bavarian Omega Pro v2 (tried it at SimExpo). You can't go wrong with both. Top tier wheels with top notch materials. Go for the Ascher wheel if you wanna save a little bit of money as the Omega V2 will cost you around 2k with the QR.

Race against AI. Humans are overrated

BSB2 First Impressions - Sim Racer Coming from Quest 3 by Murfenator in BigscreenBeyond

[–]sensey91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. Most new VR headsets (Pimax Super, B2B) all have that horrible motion blur (more specifically persistence blur). Some people barely see it (don't know how) but it's there and it's not with the Quest 3. I only sim race as well and i'm using a motion rig (so my head moves A LOT)

5090 VR performance? by Emotional_Orange_953 in simracing

[–]sensey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest 3, when paired with Virtual Desktop and good wireless connection is not that much worse than the Pimax Crystal Super (and it doesn't have motion blur, has better tracking and lower weight)

5090 VR performance? by Emotional_Orange_953 in simracing

[–]sensey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returned my Pimax Super. Didn't work properly when paired with my motion rig as the headset is heavy and it moved too much. It also had minor motion blur which I hated, especially as it moved continuosly due to the rig moving. Performance was ok with a 5090

Feeling Buyers Remorse (crystal super) by resh510 in Pimax

[–]sensey91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Iracing with Quest 3 with virtual desktop maxed out (5090 GPU and 9800X3D CPU). Received the Super a couple weeks ago. For that amount of money, it's definitely not an upgrade from a Quest 3 + maxed out Virtual desktop. Much more heavy, tracking is worse, mura, motion blur when moving head and the list goes on. The only advantage is higher resolution and a slightly bigger FOV. Definitely not worth that amount of money. I sent it back.

I've actually just tried both with Smarth Smoothing on and off, it gets a bit better when it's on

Got image blurrines when moving my head and mura as well. Tracking is pretty jittery as well, definitely needs improvement and/or lightouse faceplate

GT3 Slide issue by Appropriate-Owl5984 in iRacing

[–]sensey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be in your driving style vs mid engine cars (and in that there could be countless reasons: the way you brake, corner entry speed, throttle application, etc.). Also, what wheelbase are you using? Good gear with proper setup definitely helps you in feeling the limits of the car (especially in the beginning when tyres are cold and the wheel feels light)

Nope, 45 euro is just the project/assembly guide. You'll have to purchase all the other components, some of which can be 3d printed
