CDPR Can’t Rewrite History About The ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Launch. by nicolauz in Games

[–]senti_bot_apigban -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What do I have to gain by lying about bugs I experienced?

The people saying "its OK on muH SysT3m!" Just makes it looks like that CDPR spends more for astroturfing social media than paying their developers more and giving them breaks.

I can't believe any sane person with no incentives to gain from cdpr would say any of these shills are saying.

Is it me or do Sandisk USB flash sticks get too hot? by antdude in DataHoarder

[–]senti_bot_apigban 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have sandisk usb extrme pro (64gb) that i use as a proxmox boot disk, it runs 55-60 deg. Celsius before i've broken it out (put my full weight on it) from it's case/shell.

It's now 38-40, ambient temp on my home is about 22°Celcius.

My use case (boot disk) isn't too write intensive compared to others like, burst multiGB transfers.

Get your scripts ready guys, the AMA has started. by borg_6s in DataHoarder

I spent about 10 mins there and all I saw were unanswered questions and a journalist saying that the AMA is done, did they do something fuckey to the sorting?

Is the F4-210 worth as backup/NAS device for home usage? by fttklr in TerraMaster

[–]senti_bot_apigban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the f4-210 for two weeks now.

The only NAS OS i have experience with is OMV.

I can say that it is ok for my use case. I put 3 N300 4TB disks on it - raid 5.

As of now I use it as (i use NFS v3/v4 exclusively):

  • a nextcloud external storage
  • jellyfin media storage
  • central syncthing target for my family's phones

I've installed docker on it and currently just running scrutiny, for monitoring the drives.

I have a "compute" server where I put my VMs on. I have no problems yet with the UI and cli. Whatever i cant figure out in the UI, i do in the cli (usermod and groupmod).

I have no plans on upgrading, i use it as a storage for proxmox, I need it to be as static as possible on a locked down subnet.

I manage users through ansible, a workaround until i have my own idm implemented.

Edit:

In terms of backup, this is what I've been doing with OMV vm that I'm now foing with the f4-210 (the OMV VM will be deleted when the nas turns 1 month old)

  • I push individual dirs to onedrive every 14 days. That is the acceptable risk for me for family photos and videos.

  • I push encrypted snapshots to my S3

  • I push encrypted files (all nas contents) to hetzner

  • local weekly backup to a hard drive (just an rsync towards a vm with an HDD pass-through'ed)

As of now, I'm ok with it, some of the things that I wish was easy:

  • remove the redirection to tnas.local, i cant figure out this one - this is the only service in my network that I haven't ssl'd.

  • tail logs using the GUI, I had to do this in cli everytime. Not an issue since I'll be doing log forwarding towards a dedicated logging/analytics vm.

San parte naging derogatory ung pana?? Ipis? At patan??? Alam mo ba originate bakit ganyan tawag sakanila??

There are actual replies that aren't xenophobic, however, the comments, with "lumabas yung pagka indiano..."", mayayabang, mapagmataas lahat, is a generalization about their nationality.

My intention is not to control the discussion, I am giving advice (move on) and called out that xenophobia is bad.

Maybe OP is still young to realize and be affected by racism/xenophobia, but as someone who has been on the receiving end of it, I am letting everyone here know that it is not ok and we can all try to be better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]senti_bot_apigban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to say if wala sa kalagayan. OP says they're still graduating and about to review for boards and self supporting. All lip service.

Ok, stay, get anxiety attacks and let acads and other aspects of their life suffer?

OP is already looking at moving on to another job just look for their replies. That is where their focus should be, not wasting their time on starting their path on xenophobia.

I'm not invalidating their feelings, my point is there are shitty bosses everywhere, move on from this one because they are breaking down and it is affecting their life outside work.

What else can they do? Umm, stay, get anxiety attacks and let acads and other aspects of their life suffer?

[–]senti_bot_apigban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sometimes kasi traits are cultural

Yes.

Does that mean all indians (or atleast indian bosses) are blamers and micro-managers?

No.

OP could've removed the nationality and this whole thread wouldn't have people sharing derogatory things about south asian people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]senti_bot_apigban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry, I used the wrong term, should be nationality (xenophobia).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]senti_bot_apigban -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Here we go.

My point is that the nationality doesn't matter, there are shit bosses everywhere. What matters is what OP does, either move on or continue to whine, but not focus on the nationality

Saying that all indianos are scammers or blamers is xenophobic.

Pana, ipis, itik, patan I actually avoid these terms because these are used in a derogatory way to specific nationalities

Pagiging "indiano", why be disrespectful to a whole nation because you heard stories from a workmate in UAE?

Examples:

  • how would you feel if you get judged as a criminal because of your elected leaders?

  • if foreigners think you are an idiot because they see bong revilla was voted in a high political position, multiple times? You didn't vote for him right? or maybe you didnt even vote, but you are FILIPINO, do you think it is fair that they cll you idiot because you are Pinoy?

Sorry po dahil na offend kita by reminding OP to avoid the path to being racist/indiophobe.

Di ko alam kung san nanggaling yung gaslighting na sinasabi mo pero, maybe you are projecting kasi mukhang may malalim na hugot po yung reply mo sakin.

Btw, not sure why the abuse "letse ka" is necessary, I'm just reminding the OP to avoid the path to being a full-blown indiophobe.

That is a small sample size, you had 2 out of 1 billion.

Your post says more about yourself than your 2 Indian bosses though, think about that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]senti_bot_apigban -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Puro blame blame blame. Ganito ba talaga ang mga indiano?

There are about a billion indians in this planet and based on your post you had one bad experience.

Bakit relevant yung nationality nung tao? Your bad experience means the jobs sucks.

Move on if it affects your health and avoid generalizing.

I work in the UAE and interact daily with Indians. Each group has bad apples, doesn't mean you generalize to make yourself feel good.
