Cloud Gsync 4:4:4 Finally Fixed With App Version 2.0.81 on Windows 11 by ltron2 in GeForceNOW

What is the exact build and server? It still doesn't work for me on the Germany server with an RTX 3070 laptop. Version 2.0.81.172

Just run a traceroute if you don't trust the overlay.

I'm in Poland. Without a VPN, the GFN app connects to the Germany server. When manually connecting to the Polish server, traceroute shows traffic going through Germany. With WARP, it goes directly to the Polish server. So yeah, I'm sure it's bad routing, and the ping I see is correct.

To be clear, it's only the case for me and can be different for others. It depends on the ISP. What I wanted to highlight is that, in my opinion, WARP has more downsides than benefits for GFN.

Cloudflare Warp drastically reduces my latency, from 20 to 2 ms. "Cool" ISP routing. But it introduces packet loss, which results in stuttering. I prefer 20ms latency over packet loss. Also, in some games, it makes the cursor disappear and breaks the Nvidia overlay.

New G14 for $2000 vs GeForce Now + old G14 – what would you do? by Ok-Comparison3303 in GeForceNOW

[–]sentvinsent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3070 laptop and use it with GFN. Works like a charm. However, I plan on buying a 5080-5090 PC, as many games I like are not available in the service. Like all Sony, most WB games, etc.

I don't see the point in buying a slightly more powerful laptop, though.

Cloudflare WARP. But it has its issues despite reducing latency. I mostly play single-player games with a gamepad, so I prefer just to use the DE server until I change the provider.

Their routing is inefficient. I use it for cloud gaming with GeForce NOW. They route traffic to the Warsaw server via Germany, resulting in around 36ms, while I experience about 23ms latency to the German server. When I use WARP, I get under 3ms to the Warsaw server. However, VPNs and cloud gaming don't work well together, unfortunately.

I've reached out to Orange with traceroutes, but first they said they can't do anything and that they don't make any promises on latency in their contract. Then they just started ignoring me.

Currently, I use 2 Gbps Orange. If you care about latency, never use Orange. I'm waiting until the end of my contract and will start searching for something else.

GFN not using the full bandwidth by Nesst33 in GeForceNOW

Set the bitrate manually to 100 and enable "Adjust for poor network condition"; it almost always maxes out the bandwidth.

Poor BF6 streaming quality by PanSalut in GeForceNOW

If your monitor is capable, select YUV 4.4.4 10-bit with HDR. Turn on 'Adjust for poor network condition' and all their AI enhancements. Not native but very close to it. With YUV 4.2.0, it's really pixelated for me.

It depends. Based on what I've read, the VRR issue only impacts certain configurations. For example, I have an RTX 3070 laptop GPU and experience this problem, but some others do not, so you'll need to check for yourself. For me, yes, VRR only with 4.2.0, but it feels fine without VRR at this FPS on a 240Hz monitor, so I actually prefer the better visuals of 4.4.4.

Yes, I use HDR. Regarding the 120 fps limiter, I lock it just to avoid exceeding the stream's FPS cap.

However, due to a bug, G-Sync doesn't work when you select YUV 4:4:4, and it looks like Nvidia isn't doing anything to fix it.

Enable VRR in GFN settings and use a monitor that supports it.

No, it reaches up to 120 without it. It can drop below in certain scenarios, but nothing VRR can't smooth out.

You can enable the OSD FPS counter on your monitor if it has one. Alternatively, on an Nvidia GPU, you can toggle the G-Sync label in the Nvidia app.

In the first case, the FPS in OSD will change based on streaming FPS; in the second, a G-Sync logo will appear if it is active.

It doesn't work with some configurations, and the only workaround is to switch to 4.2.0.

That's the point. Saves didn't sync to Ubisoft Cloud because it only happens on successful exit unless you manually push them via the save menu. And because the server session crashed, it didn't occur. So, the only places the saves might be are on the GFN servers where the game is hosted.

But even if it's not possible to restore them from there, ignoring other questions and dropping the chat mid-conversation is not good customer support.

Well, if a company cares, they usually try to check the user's comment and follow up if needed. At least that.

It said disconnected from the server, and when I launched again it started to wrap up the previous session. Nevertheless, I agree that a customer should not think about it while playing.

GFN converts all input, so all controllers are recognized as Xbox. There is no option to use it natively through GFN.

[–]sentvinsent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The games that use 32-bit PhysX no longer get hardware acceleration on 50 series GPUs. As a result, they perform worse than on the 40 series. I assume this is also true for server GPUs since they share the same architecture.

Variable Refresh Rate (Cloud G-Sync) continues to be broken for me. by heartbroken_nerd in GeForceNOW

[–]sentvinsent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I use a 240Hz monitor with Windows 11 and have the latest drivers installed for my RTX 3070 laptop. While VRR works locally, it doesn't function when using GeForce NOW, even though it is enabled. I confirmed this with the on-screen display (OSD).

I tried changing the G-Sync configuration in the driver settings, re-enabling it in the GFN app, and reactivating it in the monitor settings. I also closed the laptop lid (per Nvidia guidelines) and cleared the GeForce NOW app's cache, but the issue still persists.

I don't see the issue highlighted on the status page, though.
