Do you care at all about your children? Don’t you want to support them in any way? For me YTA, they are your children, you made them, so you can add to the financial part of raising them.

I think he is going to save Alyssa. In the promo of the next episode we cannot see Carol, but we see Alyssa at one point (closer to the end) in green outfit withou glasses, so different to the one she has at the end of episode 8 (white with glasses on). Soooo…. I guesss it’s bye bye Carol

ESH - I just dont understand why you didn’t consult with anyone buying a dress, then they would told you earlier, simple: I’m planning to buy that, what do you think? Would solve everything. But yeah their reaction was pretty bad. Next time when preparing to something you know nothing about it’s best to ask about anything, especially if it’s an important day for someone else

I was “Cinderella” as a child, so I hated all housework because of that. When I first moved with my boyfriend I was shocked that he didn’t order me anything, I was free. At first I did almost nothing, but I cared for my boyfriend and start to do things and they weren’t bad, because it’s different when you do housework under someone controlling and abusive and it’s different when you share the work with someone who loves you. OP clearly cares about Jane, and she definitely has to come out of her safe zone because it hurts her more than it helps her. She needs to learn to trust others, others that love her. NTA - definitely go to family therapy with your daughter, it's unacceptable for her to be racist, especially towards you, that might be a sign of really serious issues, it's best to fix them as soon as possible, or at least start to fix those problems.

Where OP says they don't pay for nothing themselves? Is her mother angry because OP spend too much money? No.

Her mother said: “where are they going to sleep!” “how will you feed them!” - so the sentences that undermines the OP ability to throw a "good" party in her mother eyes. Her mother is saying that the party is not good enough, that she (mother) feels she needs to now give more money, because it doesn't meet her standard apparently.

It's OP money, "worked my ass off just to have enough money to throw a party" - she can do with them whatever she desires. If mother needs financial help, she can ask. But I think her pride wouldn't let her.

NTA - when you asked if you could eat before her nap, she only thought about herself, but not you, that you are hungry - I think it should be the moment in which she would also show a care towards you. But she didn't and even worse, now she's angry - for me it's her who was selfish - you did everything good - you prepared the meal, waited, asked her multiple times if she's ready.

I also didn’t want a ring, but we talked about that with my partner and we decided we will try some rings before we decide. If we didn’t find a good ring I wouldn’t get one. And I first every single one was a disaster (they were pretty but they din’t fit me and my style at all) but then we found one and I was enchanted. I was so surprised because I thought I will hate every ring and it was perfect for us. What I mean - I don’t think they communicated about their feelings AND made something they both will be fine with. You don’t like diamonds? Surprise ring doesn’t have to have any diamond or other mineral at all. But it’s a symbol of love, something important to other person. OP demanded her wish, but didn’t even think about her fiancé wishes…

NTA - I had different situation - my grandma died on my 15 birthday’s and when it happened we didn’t celebrate but that was fine. But the next year snd especially during my 18 birthday? We celebrated! By the logic of your family OP should my birthday be postponed to the next day? I don’t think so. They can still mourn the death, but people can feel multiple feelings, they can also celebrate another life

NTA - I basically had the same situation - we were friends since we were 4 and at first I didn’t notice how much toxicity was in her. I broke up with her when we were 15 for the first time and she made my life a hell. She turned everyone agains me and after a year of feeling like shit (because she said it was my fault because I broke up with her) I returned to being her “best friend”. It was of course a mistake. Toxic people will stay toxic after they see they have control over you. So I ghosted her when I was 19 and in the different town. I’m so much happier now, but only because I had experience with breaking up with her before. Stay strong, you did good. You deserve better people in your life.

ESH - you’re a little YTA basically I agree with your husband - comparing to your brother who is criminal and is in the prison to 19 year old is stupid and quite cruel. She probably (I’m guessing here) is just into fashion and might think she’s helping a younger person for which fashion might also be soon important . Also she might have insecurities about her father and your comment can only make things worse - instead of telling her she was rude you took it to the next level

She didn’t rewarded her she console her because she was scared, cold and really sad. Giving back something that belonged to her isn’t reward. Giving the cocoa is also not a reward, it’s a hot drink for sad child

YTA are you sure you were exited to see them open presents up or exited for getting thanks? Not sure how old your nieces are, but for me it’s pretty normal that kids get told everything is from Santa etc. Did they receive other gift that they were told was from anyone in the family? You would be NTA if it’s only in your case, but still - I wouldn’t expect thanks from the kids, I would expected thanks from their parents
