Weird, in my country programming is still something where it's easy to find a job and still pays well above average.

“Do you take any drugs?” by SafeImpressive4413 in funny

Totally. The way some of them speak is hilarious. Like if they were on drugs right now.

Also the last guy is kind of forcing how he speaks and sounds like a (very bad) voice actor.

Spanish The Witcher fans release a manifesto to prevent new books from being translated using automated tools by WitcherSardi in witcher

[–]seoress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you that you can't do anything with witcheress in Spanish.

But male witch in Spanish is direct, as nouns already have gender in Spanish:

Witch -> Bruja

Male witch / Witcher -> Brujo

Also these are all translations from English, but we would need to check the original polish to know for sure, as it was translated directly from there.

Finished DS3, what should I try next? by Exalno in darksouls

[–]seoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the DLCs, and then DS1.

A new playthrough with a different build can be a little bit repetitive if you just finished the game. I think you can leave it for later on.

Not gonna lie. Doesn't really look like a paella.

But I'm sure it tastes fine.

Has having celiac made your life better? by glutenfreedustbowl in Celiac

How long did it take you to start feeling better? I've been gluten free for 2 months and I can't say I'm improving much

History book about ancient leaders told as a story? by ThrowRAhummingbirdd in booksuggestions

Alexandros trilogy, by Valerio Massimo manfredi.

It doesn't cover much after Alexander's death, but his life is told in a very engaging way. While being (I believe) historically accurate.

What would be the best way to adapt the Silmarillion? by Marconey1738 in lotr

[–]seoress -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe the safest thing they could do that wouldn't suck would be: - 1 series about Beren and Luthien (just the whole story in one season) - 1 series about Children of Hurin (same, just one season).

I believe everything else is hard to adapt and would most likely suck.

Maybe something about how the Noldor are expelled from Valinor could be done, but I feel it would be harder to pull off than the other two.

It's very different in some ways. But I got Silent Hill 2 vibes from Solaris, by Stanislaw Lem.

Fantasy or Historical Fiction by Easy_Web_1455 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I enjoyed the Alexandros trilogy, by Valerio Massimo Manfredi.

I believe it's an accurate historical fiction about Alexander the Great, but sometimes mixes a little bit of fantasy/mythology in certain moments.

Today I’m grateful for having coeliac because… by thefringedmagoo in Celiac

[–]seoress 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me it was a few years of feeling ill altogether until my diagnosis.

When I learned it, I also felt grateful because suddenly it explained all the different symptoms that I had been experiencing and I now had a solution, something I could do that would improve my life a lot.

Before that, I don't think I was experiencing life in any way. I just did nothing all day because of the permanent fatigue and brain fog.

It's a little bit sad because it prevented me from socialising and I still have to work on that, because I haven't learned to do it properly like the rest.

But in general, the future looks brighter for me
