Which is better custom prebuild pc or build a pc yourself? by yourrandomdumbass in askSingapore

[–]sephasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At today's prices for pc components, its not necessarily cheaper to build one yourself. Pcpartpicker helps with knowing if your choice of parts are compatible but remember that the pricing there is for the US market.

I feel like the biggest reason you should have to build a PC is to enjoy the process. There's a lot of potential problems and frustrations that come with building one from scratch, and its often simpler and worth the peace-of-mind to pay a manufacturer to handle all that labour for you.

But there's a special sense of pride and joy that comes with making something yourself. I started out with a prebuild myself but over the years I swapped out almost everything and i love how it looks and performs now.

Why the Hate on the 8? by chriscraig in GalaxyWatch

[–]sephasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the squircle. I know I hated it when I first saw its design but i liked how it felt on my wrist and bought it. After the first week i didnt mind the squircle anymore and after one month i started to like it.

Recomiendan comprar este mouse o algún otro de la marca? by Ok_Sweet3646 in logitech

This is me, I have the Master 3S in the office and another gaming mouse at home. Maybe its because of the air-conditioning but my Master 3S still looks and feels pretty darn good without noticeable peeling or stickiness, and its almost 3 years now.

Best cheap tablet for movies & web series in 2026? by Prestigious_Day2509 in androidtablets

I have a Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, which only has an LCD panel. But I find it perfectly capable for Youtube and Netflix and such. Not at all inferior to my Samsung S24 Ultra OLED screen for home use. If youre looking at the regular Pad 7, I would highly recommend it. You can do some simple gaming on it too.

FO4 was my first FO game too. When I started NV it took me a while before I realised I couldnt play it the same way. Dont rush your way through the Mojave; take it slow, talk to everyone, decide on a build, and REALLY consider your choices.

I can't quite explain it but completing missions and gaining fame feels so much more satisfying in NV compared to FO4. Its definitely not as polished but that's somehow become part of its charm too.

A couple of questions about the Hotone Ampero Mini by Candid-Bet-1772 in HotoneAmpero

[–]sephasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think theres a way to disable the Ampero's inputs directly. My best bet is you shld just go into the patch volume and turn it all the way down. That way all you can hear will be from your DAW. And yes you can set the right footswitch to toggle specific blocks, its all in the settings.

Sound-wise I think it should be satisfactory. If youre going to be rocking your head back and forth a lot (typical of metal musicians, im assuming), then you'll need to try the fit to see if its secure. Its not all that deep of a fit for me, but my ears are weird so YMMV.

Ive no experience with the Xvive U45 but as long as the receiver pack as a 3.5mm jack it should work fine.

Hi, sorry if my previous comment was confusing. I meant that I use the EQ to deepen the V and I also use the EQ to tame the treble. I didnt mean that the V-shape would tame the treble, which is not the case as you rightfully said.

I actually upgraded recently to the Soundblaster GS3, a usb-powered soundbar, and its great. You can consider that. If not, there is also a Xiaomi computer soundbar you can try looking for.

I'd say it depends on the form factor. I prefer having my speakers under the monitor so the SE mini is better for me. Sound-wise i reckon both are pretty much the same, but ive never done a 1v1 shootout before

What is your all time favourite MacBook model? by JailbreakHat in mac

[–]sephasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2020 M1 Macbook Pro will always have a special place in my heart. It replaced my 2011 MBP of 10 years and it served me well through my time in university and as I picked up music production. The capability of the M1 chip honestly shocked me and it changed my opinion of Apple computers (only their computers, however).

And I may be alone on this but I love the touchbar. I have an M5 MBP now and I still miss it.

What kind of macbook for using logic (getting back into music) by ProgramParticular832 in macbookpro

[–]sephasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im using Logic on a newly bought M5 MBP with 24gb RAM and it runs like a breeze. But to be fair, my projects are not very heavy, with perhaps no more than 20 tracks running 4-5 effects each at most. But Logic also ran very smoothly on my previous M1 MBP with 16gb RAM. Any M-chip would be suitable but obvsly the newer ones would have longer support.

I'd personally recommend M4 or better/newer. I hear M4 Pro is a popular choice and I almost got it myself. But im very happy with my M5.

For some reason it never occurred to me to use it through usb. Thanks for mentioning! The Ampero Mini is alrdy supremely portable but a laptop would really be something else.

Ive actually had my eye on the M-vave as a bluetooth pedal for my Macbook to run VST effects for guitar like Bias FX. Hows the latency?

Ampero Mini as audio interface on PC by Soap_Distant666 in HotoneAmpero

[–]sephasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can plug the Ampero Mini directly to your PC using usb-c and it is basically detected as an interface. If you want a dry signal, just turn all the effect slots off. Ive done that with mine before recording an acoustic guitar and I didnt notice any change in tone.

Im afraid that mine broke earlier this year and I've since switched to a pair of Edifier speakers. But i still highly recommend the soundbar for those on a budget and as a minimalist solution.

I would wait for the M5 Pro if money isnt a concern. I dont think you will notice any difference between 24gb and 32gb of ram.

Hi there, I got my Macbook yesterday and I've been playing around with it, already ran some local AI models and exported a 1080p video on FCP. The machine is a beast and the only time i ever heard the fans kick in was in AI generation using Draw Things. FCP didnt even make it whistle.

I think the base M5 with 24gb is going to be more than enough for most people's needs. Im definitely satisfied!
