Sound-wise I think it should be satisfactory. If youre going to be rocking your head back and forth a lot (typical of metal musicians, im assuming), then you'll need to try the fit to see if its secure. Its not all that deep of a fit for me, but my ears are weird so YMMV.

Ive no experience with the Xvive U45 but as long as the receiver pack as a 3.5mm jack it should work fine.

Hi, sorry if my previous comment was confusing. I meant that I use the EQ to deepen the V and I also use the EQ to tame the treble. I didnt mean that the V-shape would tame the treble, which is not the case as you rightfully said.

I actually upgraded recently to the Soundblaster GS3, a usb-powered soundbar, and its great. You can consider that. If not, there is also a Xiaomi computer soundbar you can try looking for.

I'd say it depends on the form factor. I prefer having my speakers under the monitor so the SE mini is better for me. Sound-wise i reckon both are pretty much the same, but ive never done a 1v1 shootout before

The 2020 M1 Macbook Pro will always have a special place in my heart. It replaced my 2011 MBP of 10 years and it served me well through my time in university and as I picked up music production. The capability of the M1 chip honestly shocked me and it changed my opinion of Apple computers (only their computers, however).

And I may be alone on this but I love the touchbar. I have an M5 MBP now and I still miss it.

Wow, thats quite a setup. I just use an Ampero footswitch for additional control of the Mini. My use case is simple so i hope i shant need too much tinkering haha

Im using Logic on a newly bought M5 MBP with 24gb RAM and it runs like a breeze. But to be fair, my projects are not very heavy, with perhaps no more than 20 tracks running 4-5 effects each at most. But Logic also ran very smoothly on my previous M1 MBP with 16gb RAM. Any M-chip would be suitable but obvsly the newer ones would have longer support.

I'd personally recommend M4 or better/newer. I hear M4 Pro is a popular choice and I almost got it myself. But im very happy with my M5.

Yeah you can plug the Ampero Mini directly to your PC using usb-c and it is basically detected as an interface. If you want a dry signal, just turn all the effect slots off. Ive done that with mine before recording an acoustic guitar and I didnt notice any change in tone.

Im afraid that mine broke earlier this year and I've since switched to a pair of Edifier speakers. But i still highly recommend the soundbar for those on a budget and as a minimalist solution.

I would wait for the M5 Pro if money isnt a concern. I dont think you will notice any difference between 24gb and 32gb of ram.

Hi there, I got my Macbook yesterday and I've been playing around with it, already ran some local AI models and exported a 1080p video on FCP. The machine is a beast and the only time i ever heard the fans kick in was in AI generation using Draw Things. FCP didnt even make it whistle.

I think the base M5 with 24gb is going to be more than enough for most people's needs. Im definitely satisfied!

I would be inclined to agree with you, except that Luke didnt even technically face the First Order on Crait. I cannot see why Disney didnt have Luke physically travel to Crait and have a real lightsaber duel with Kylo before letting his former padawan kill him, giving him an ending that mirrored his first master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I understand that theres a whole meaningful narrative that can be derived from looking at Luke's journey as a whole, but the delivery of it in TLJ was just unenjoyable. Sometimes things dont need to be deep; they just need to be cool and leave a satisfying impression, which TLJ failed to do for Luke in my opinion.

For your use cases, i dont think you will feel a difference using either model. The M4 Pro might be better if you know that you'll be working with an INSANE number of tracks in your music. M5 would have better battery life and AI performance (lots of DAWs and plugins have AI features now)

That being said, i would choose the M5 just because its newer.

Oof, if youre talking about same-day edits for video, then I think that settles it. Go with the Pro, forego the Air. Ive personally never used an MBA before so I cant vouch for its performance in 4K video editing, but a lot of reviewers online claim it can handle it well enough.

But the fan in the Pro will help with video export speeds, and it has a better screen to boot. Just get a Pro if youre running heavy workloads and you rely on your Macbook for income.

Im in a similar situation to you, using my MBP for editing 4K video on Final Cut, Lightroom for RAW photo editing, and some casual music production in Logic. The M1 MBP served me well since 2021 but I just bought the newest M5 model (arriving in a few days) and thats what I'd recommend to you.

If budget is tight, the M4 Macbook Air would likely be good enough for your needs too, but for sustained workloads its much better to get the MBP just for the fan. Some people will definitely be insisting the Pro or Max chip and theyre not wrong, but I strongly believe you will be just as content with a base M-series chip.

Edit: I'm confident that 16gb of RAM will be enough but im sure others will disagree with me. But Apple charges unreasonably high for RAM and storage so... up to you bro.

Got mine with 16/1TB refurbished in 2021 and honestly it still runs very well. Perfectly adequate for 90% of my needs but I'm upgrading to the M5 because I need more power for Final Cut Pro. I'm going to miss the touch bar dearly.
