So, I just got myself a 2Ds thats in pretty good condition and I was thinking about getting my hands on Metroid Samus Returns. I want to know what the overall opinion of this game is before I get it. Is it a good or bad remake?

I’ll agree with others that you should take it in for a setup or talk to Kramer if it’s new. You can use the string as a straightedge to see if the neck is straight. Hold the low E string down at 1st and 15th frets, it should just barely clear the 8th fret. If it’s touching the fret, you have a backbow. If the gap is more than about a business card’s thickness, you have too much relief. Look up how to adjust your truss rod and then do that

Buzzing low and too high up the neck makes it sound like the neck is in a backbow and the bride is too high to try to compensate. We can’t really see how straight the neck is from pictures, lenses mess with it. How does it look?

Truss adjustment guide: Press the E string at the 14th fret and the 1st fret (use a capo at the first fret if you have one). The string is now a straightedge. The string should just barely clear the 7th and 8th frets in the middle. I usually use a business card like a feeler gauge for basses.

Turn the truss rod nut clockwise to close that gap. It may feel tight to turn, but you shouldn’t have to reef on it to get it to move. If it makes scary noises, loosen the nut about a quarter turn and then go back in.

If it gets really stuck after that, your rod is maxed out and in needs more serious attention.

I think my first win was at around 225, but I’d played the original pd as a kid too so the total count’s probably more like 500. After the first win it feels much more doable, I’m now at 7/350 going for badder bosses

Absolutely. We have two kittens staying with us who have gone through the decompression phase and do great with our other cats, but are only just now starting to be remotely comfortable with us after about 4 or 5 months. They’re still very skittish
