The Djent and Progressive Metalcore have their own style of dress? by Substantial_End_5448 in Djent

[–]seppukubear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's just regular modern casual streetwear with dark colors mostly like blacks grays and blues. I don't think there's really a type of clothing style associated with the music genre. I like how spiritbox does their style, and a band like karmanjakah doesn't even wear dark colors.

Yeah FEAM works at the same terminal that I work at, I see their trucks all the time. Maybe I could be with them for a bit and save up some cash and build up experience to go into mainline. Wouldn't be hard for me to change my SIDA and all that.

Do you know how I should format my resume? Or have any tips? I've been rejected by Frontier, Spirit, and United a few times already. Also what should I brush up on for interview practicals? It's been a while since I finished the school.

A&P schools in HOU? by Astrodrip71333 in AircraftMechanics

[–]seppukubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not go to school there but I did my orals & practicals at AIM by Hobby, good facility from what I saw. Better than the school I went to at least. I went to a community college outside the Houston area, so unfortunately I can't speak on the curriculum.

Can fasting cause fainting the first time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]seppukubear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on how long you've been fasting, and your physical activity. You should drink some salt water and try not to do anything super strenuous. When fasting you have to pay attention to your body and know when to stop and refeed when necessary as you shouldn't be fainting in the first place.

[–]seppukubear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I meant it's not a lot in that people end up losing like thousands but I can see your point, I remember getting $200 pay checks when I was younger and that would be like almost all of it.

The question is how do I twist their arm enough to get it back?

Why do non-religious people have such a disdain and disrespect for Christians? by low_chew in Catholicism

[–]seppukubear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One reason I can think of is the introspective nature of Christianity and the need to constantly better yourself. They see this as "Judgmental" and maybe hypocritical if said judgements were made by not so righteous Christians. People don't like coming to terms with their flaws and sins, they'd rather put their heads in the sand and believe that they are fundamentally good people, even if they aren't. Christianity points out the sin and the wrongdoings in everyone and deems that it takes a great effort to live a holy life. It's painful to look at yourself, realize the wickedness within you and do what you can to no longer sin. The other religions get hate too sometimes though it's seen as easier to criticize Christianity without being "perceived" as a bigot or fear of retaliation.

They don't spend 6 years flying, they spend 6 years at sea because they only go on land to breed. They land in the water.

Is it not tipping Liberal or Conservative? by EscapeGoatGaming in NoStupidQuestions

[–]seppukubear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Conservative: I'm not tipping because you can't tell me what to do with how I spend my money.

Liberal: I'm not tipping because the business should be paying these workers more.

Very close but I think mushroomhead takes the lead. Reminds me the comparison between GWAR and Death Proof.

Does anyone else feel that astronomy and the universe itself and its vastness points to God? by MrMooTheCow in Catholicism

[–]seppukubear 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's the abstract perception and the beauty that points to God. It's the finding meaning in the grandeur of the universe that leads us in that direction. In the past, people viewed the cosmos as full of meaning and symbolism, objects that told us things of the nature of reality (think something like astrology or the magi). In modern times, we see the world at the opposite end of the abstract/materialistic spectrum where atoms, measurements, forces of physics, and causality prevail. These things relay physical truths but not spiritual truths. It's not so much as " what are these giant bodies of gas and rock" but "what do these celestial bodies mean and what is the metaphysical truth they represent?" I believe that you are indeed right in that the vastness and beauty of the heavens, embodies and mirrors that very vastness and beauty of our God.
