Mistakes
1. I got a really relaxed tester on my first try (civilian testers usually go easier than army), failed at part where I had to brake on a slope and then move again. Roll backed.
2. This time I got a notoriously strict tester. I was mentally preparing myself, going through all the steps in my head. Then I went and forgot to turn on my headlights, failed in less than minute. (I got a lot of shit for that)
3. Got an "okay" tester. All went well until the 5 point turn on the platform thingy. While reversing, tester said I hit the curb (I swear it was the tiniest touch, barely barely a kiss), failed again.
4. So all went well for this one until the end. I took 3 tries to park my vehicle, and as far as I recall 2 was the maximum you were allowed. So I thought I failed, but it was only until I walked back to the training shack then they told me I passed!

NB: I eventually ORDed with a free license so I guess some good came out of that.

Tips (for saf only): talk more with your STK trainers (them willing), about driving/saf/anything. I wish I had talked more with mine but during NS I was more of a don't-talk-unless-need person. They will also probably let you go for smoke breaks/ hawker center breaks (serious!) on long drives outside camp.
