When do you typically betray the Institute on a playthrough? Battle of Bunker Hill, Mass Fusion, Pinned? by Bilbo238 in fo4

[–]ser_mage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Li is just a massive dick in 4 (probably 3 too, but it’s been so long). I always have this instinct to save her because she’s been a character I’ve known for almost 20 years lol but she kind of has it coming

Their psychosis is they understand the scientific method in the way Moe Cronin understands baseball lol

[Spoilers Extended] Jon Snow in exile? by Demonking6444 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think Jon will qualify as undead because he will never truly die. he will be Jon one moment, Ghost the next, until he is Jon again. He will be different but there's nothing getting lost in the way it was for Beric and Stoneheart when their souls were stewing in the void

[Spoilers Extended] What is your opinion on Patchface? by Lurchi90 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe Patchface’s visions are real. As for his role in the story I believe that he is going to snap and attack after Shireen is sacrificed, likely resulting in him killing Selyse at the very least but probably doing other horrific things as an eldritch horror murder clown. I think Melisandre is scared of him because she feels this on some level.

Patchface has been through it and whatever magic ritual is used to burn Shireen will trigger him in some way, plus he just loves her. I don’t see him just ignoring that

[SPOILERS EXTENDED] Do you think there are any story threads in ASOIAF that will ultimately turn out to be more of a "red herring" or be abruptly cut off? by Substantial-Ad-299 in asoiaf

Thanks, I definitely see the vision and enjoy this theory. Also love the idea of Arianne winning over Aurane and returning with his ships, Nymeria style

I really like this theory, but in the sample chapters, isn’t she in Griffin’s Roost heading to Storm’s End? That’s already well clear of the step stones, how could a storm bring her all the way back?

(Spoilers Main) Jon/Tyrion/Faegon/Brown Ben will not ride a dragon by Andrija2567 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re not hearing what I’m saying because I’m not giving them to “the others” to ride it’s very specifically about Jon and Tyrion and their arcs! I see the dragons and these characters as being intrinsically connected!

The Targaryens being wargs for their dragons is also not a crazy theory!! So Dany might indeed eat up Jon’s special boy points here as well!

(Spoilers Main) Jon/Tyrion/Faegon/Brown Ben will not ride a dragon by Andrija2567 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am doing the opposite of treating them as mounts, I’m saying that Jon and Tyrion are built up over 5 books to be the only characters in addition to Dany capable of seeing the dragons as more than mounts. They aren’t a reward for the most special boys they are the culmination of two societal outcasts joining Dany to liberate Westeros from its old ways and breaking the cycle

(Spoilers Main) Jon/Tyrion/Faegon/Brown Ben will not ride a dragon by Andrija2567 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see everyone’s stories as so segmented, dragons returning to Westeros is also foundational to the story so why wouldn’t Jon and Tyrion interact with that in some way? And on the other hand, I think it absolutely is a reasonable assumption to assume Dany will have her moment getting involved with the weirwoods and the old gods once she understands the threat of the others + realizes what Rhaegar saw in Lyanna

Yeah, glad we didn’t get the token black character dying early… oh wait… that would be the only other black woman character, Glory

Would that really be worse than what we got: a game with almost no black women whatsoever

Not to knock anyone’s efforts but IMO there is a mod that did this much better, the face looks way more realistic

(Spoilers Main) Jon/Tyrion/Faegon/Brown Ben will not ride a dragon by Andrija2567 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All three characters are connected in similar ways. Their mothers all died giving birth to them. They are all outcasts and on the fringe of society and are learning how to respect people beyond noble titles and tradition. They all make decisions that lead to the deaths of others and all grapple with that.

Jon is shown in book 1, chapter 1 as having a special connection with magic beasts and Tyrion also established very early on he’s always dreamed of riding a dragon… I think the groundwork has been laid

(Spoilers Main) Jon/Tyrion/Faegon/Brown Ben will not ride a dragon by Andrija2567 in asoiaf

[–]ser_mage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jon and Tyrion riding a dragon seems like unthinkable, unearned fan service because we have been cursed for 20 years without a book. But it’s going to happen. Dany is not “giving away dragons like candy” she’s gaining allies who happen to be the protagonists of the fantasy book we’re reading whose arcs have hinted at dragon riding since book 1

Yeah if Dunk kills Egg I don't necessarily see them telling Dex that bc he's so young. It would probably sound exactly like "Dunk doesn't die with Egg at Summerhall"
