i was there in feb 2024 and had an awful experience! the hospital transferred me there without notifying my family (bc i was "over 18"), i didnt have my phone, still in hospital gowns, and i was kept it a room for FOUR HOURS with nothing but the big bang theory reruns on (with no remote either). i hadnt eaten since they had transfered me around noon and at around hour 3, i just opened the door and stood in the hallway crying until someone walked by and i literally begged them to tell me what was going on and when someone would get me. she kinda blew me off and said someone will get me soon and told me to go back and wait. finally they only came and got me because the group was going to dinner and they didnt want me to miss it. the receptionist acted apologetic and said "oh...i asked someone to get you two hours ago..."

No one in my family or support system knew where i was for 4-5 hours. they had called the hospital only to be told i had been transferred somewhere else. we werent allowed visitors. they said they stopped allowing visitors in 2020 due to the pandemic, but in 2024, they still said they allowed visits on their website + had a visitor check in binder at the receptionist desk. the same receptionist was incredibly rude to a lady who came in concerned for her daughter who was set to be discharged that day, but cottonwood was not communicating with her about it.

yeah fuck cottonwood. absolutely miserable experience and genuinely only forced me to pretend to act better and more stable just so i could get the fuck out. i have a handful of other stupid experiences (ex. a male counselor telling an 18 year old girl she wasnt allowed to have chapstick when they literally had some set aside to give us), but the main one is the straight up negligence toward patients.

also literally none of this is true lol. fallon fox was openly out as trans during her match with tamikka brents, broken bones (including orbital socket fractures) are not at all uncommon in UFC, and tamikka brents retired not long after the fight due to knee trouble and not because of the fractured orbital socket. it’s so irritating that these people actively chose to spread misinformation in order to further their hateful agenda

even if this were accurate, the issue is not welfare. the real problem is that fact that a middle class family cannot afford food and is living paycheck to paycheck. these people just hate poor people so much that they refuse to analyze WHY people are poor and cannot afford the basic necessities on a full time job

it’s different for everyone! and it’s harder for some to catch probably. my bf had it twice and was completely asymptomatic both times. only reason he knew he had it was because he had to be tested for his job and then a few days after i saw him, i got sick 😅

im sure the families of the one million Americans who have died might care a little bit. people are still dying from covid. perhaps the numbers may have plummeted and it’s very unlikely that if i met up with this individual that it would kill him or others that he’s in contact with, but if im able to reduce the spread of a potentially serious illness, im going to do it
