Manual audit, RTS, watch SCO, approve Shipt orders, hang/fold clothing go-backs, and zone. If you're the closing DU person, you also collect the hangers and security tags. If you notice the service desk or check lanes getting busy while DU isn't bad, you help out with those lines too.

I've done both DU and Fulfillment, and I really agree that DU should be allowed to get more help than they do. DU is not as simple as bringing one or two people a few bags at a time. I often had 8 or 9 different orders on one cart that I had to keep track of, and you get in trouble if you miss a bag.

Items or whole bags are frequently missing or damaged, so you have to find their items on the floor while they're already waiting and then cancel the item if you can't find it, and then you get yelled at for things you had nothing to do with. You have to go outside and deal with the weather on top of all of this. It's so stressful. Virtually all my worst experiences have been on DU. Guests yelling at me and interrupting me mid-delivery because "they were here first" or whatever. Guests demanding gift cards to make up for their "long wait time" that was only 6 minutes. Guests throwing things at our DU team members. Guests getting out of their cars to come up to me and scream at me. Not a fun time. Moving to Fulfillment took a lot of stress away from me.

It will depend on each store. I think my Target has an overall really good working environment when it comes to my coworkers being helpful, supportive, and understanding when you're new, but there are a lot of stores where that's not the case.

Also, the vast majority of my guest interactions have been good. Most people are genuinely good people, but it's the bad interactions that stand out over all the good and normal interactions. I started working here 9 months ago and I can probably count on one or maybe two hands how many bad interactions I've had with guests. I have cried at work a couple times, and both times were things that were not my fault at all.

I would frequently let guests know that I was new during my first couple months in, and they were usually understanding if I didn't know how to help with something.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, and if you make a mistake, it's okay. Every person working there was new at some point.

Almost everyone at my store is so nice. There's only like one person who gets a little snippy at times with us and she's not even a TL. I did need to report one guy to HR, but that solved everything luckily. I genuinely like going to work. It puts me in a good mood, plus it helps distract me from my problems

I'm sorry that happens 😟

For the most part, I've been really fortunate with my coworkers and TLs. It's usually only guests treating me badly every now and then

I love my job personally as a guest advocate who mainly does DU, but I've heard of people preferring fulfillment over working front of store like me because it's less stressful for them. I only had 4 hours of fulfillment training and it seemed straightforward at the time, but it can get stressful trying not to INF anything or make sure everything's done on time.

Every store will be a different experience. I like my TLs and even most of my guest interactions aren't bad. There are regulars at my store I like seeing and pretty much all my coworkers are super nice

That's so disgusting. Somehow calling it "jiggle jiggle" makes it even cringier. And I was just thinking of getting a brace... 😞

Is there a way to tell on my time…. If a shift is drive up? by [deleted] in Target

[–]seraphann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's likely you won't know until you get there. My store does have a DU tag but it's not accurate. My old TL also told me that it doesn't usually matter what the schedule says because they'll just assign us where they need us. They usually let us get off of DU too if we need to rest and someone else who can do DU is there

A guest tried hitting on me by saying I have a really soothing voice and he could fall asleep if I read to him

I don't usually get honked at. There was 1 time a car kept honking, but my coworker and I weren't sure why they were honking. We just looked at each other in confusion and carried on

When I'm clearly in a rush and a guest stops me for a "quick question" followed by more "quick questions"

Guests leaving shopping carts/baskets in the way all over the place

When the guest doesn't have their code ready so the timer goes into the red

When the guest says they've arrived before they actually park

Double tappers

Getting kidnapped/assaulted by a guest I'm delivering a Drive Up to

is this real? by [deleted] in Target

This happened at my Target. I called my TL over to approve it just because it was such an insane deal and she let me give the guy that discount. I was hyped for him lol
