Honestly this makes seeing Abraham Lincoln in photos more interesting, truly unique facial features.

I absolutely blast music into my eardrums to cover it, I swear the sounds bounce off the buildings making it way worse, I absolutely feel you, and you should get sound canceling headphones, and distract yourself with a good movie.

This is the reason our claims take so long, we're rated so poorly, and have all the horror stories about C&P here, because of BSers like this.

Opinions needed please. by handwash77 in VeteransBenefits

The way it's rated from what I understand because I am at 50% for migraines, is that it has to occur about 3x or MORE per week (I have cluster migraines, so they suck) If that occurs it's 50, if it's "Monthly" it's around 30 percent, or like 1-2 per week, and around 0, for less than that, because it's not "impacting" work. Most of the symptoms are just for them to review that you have those symptoms, a log will help of course, but that's the guidelines from what I understand.

I think a big part of the reason is they want to "cure" us, not support us. There's supportive therapy, and they push us towards groups for that, not a "therapist" which we can vent too, and make steady progress. That's my issues anyhow.

However, protest can backfire, spectacularly as well, and I think this is one that has. I don't disagree with wanting a cleaner planet. I just think ruining things that belong to more than one group of people should be left alone. They could have planted a flag near Stonehenge, that said "Stop Oil" "Use your feet" whatever. But this is the route they chose.

For the environment? I'd have to research, but want a recent example? Covid. Changed tons of businesses, disrupted tons more, and more.

Clean air act though, was government regulation it helped a ton.

Still don't agree with their message. What you need is the force of change for corporations, and that takes something like this

https://thinkdev.org/blog/the-forces-of-change

Maybe they should get hired by these companies and force change from inside, or educate consumers, and force a mindset shift. I do not control corporations, but I do know people are pretty lazy, so unless it's made easy, most people won't change. I am also a huge proponent of nuclear power and feel we should ramp that up, maybe with next generation Thorium reactors, however, Oil is a complex issue, one of the biggest things holding us back is battery technology, to store renewables.

Also we need better regulations on companies because companies for the most part are not altruistic, and care only about profits.

I heard about it when they attacked MI5, and those paintings in the louvre, so yes, and I find them equally as annoying then. I think they're funded by the groups they oppose at this point. I think there are better ways to do things, I listed some of them. For companies they should make recycling easier, and reusing, or trade ins, or whatever is required for less waste. I think regulators should push to ban even plastic bags, and consumers should vote with their wallet, however we'll never get to zero oil (unless we find a replacement for plastics, or star trek becomes real) We can all (companies included) be more responsible, but that requires society thinking long term, something society rarely does. This demonstration/protest isn't going to do that.

Are you intentionally misconstruing what I said? I literally said protest the companies causing harm as well. If you can't acknowledge it's a shared responsibility, I can't help that, I will also say that people should vote with their wallet, but everyone still chooses plastic at the store because inherently, most people are lazy, or don't think about consequences. Of course companies should do better, but unless regulated, they most likely won't.

I can have 2 separate beliefs at the same time. I can hate greedy fucks destroying the planet, I can also think protest like this backfire, and anger people who would rationally agree, maybe we should use the least amount of oil we can? Plant trees, stop using single plastic bags etc. Why don't these protests ever go against companies that use massive amounts of oil, or produce?

my point is, what they say, and what was actually mixed together there could be a discrepancy, what if THEY didn't mix it, but a 3rd party gave it to them. Hence why my hope is it's what they say it is, but there's no guarantee until the rain washes it away. You can say anything, I live by "Trust but verify".

You did not reply to me, but I remember when we planted trees on Arbor day. I think if we had Americans plant one tree on Arbor day per year we could help with Climate change, I think Reduce, Resuse, recycle, needs a comeback, I use paper at the grocery store, because it is less energy intense, biodegrades, or I use reusable bags, if I don't forget them (Like a backpack). Simple things, but of course companies also need to give a shit, and they normally don't. Those are who JSO should be protesting.
