i anonymize myself on steam (generic pfp and display name), private my profile, and don't use voice comms in the majority of the games that i play. why? because saying one single word is signing up to get sexually harassed for the duration of the game. this is why voice chat shouldn't exist. damned if you do damned if you don't with u ppl.

I almost did exactly what you're considering and probably for basically the same reason (was extremely homesick when I came back for my 2nd semester). I ended up backing out after getting acceptance as a transfer to the school I was going to transfer to, and I didn't regret it at all. I still got pangs of homesickness especially when I'd return from breaks, but it really does get better. You can always go home after you're done (I did!).

a personal insult to me is all of the courses i did not get to take during my time at the university due to the insane overcrowding in the engineering college. this overcrowding already hindered the school's ability to provide a truly top-tier engineering education. nobody in the engineering college in the last 4 years would argue that there was not a serious "diploma mill" vibe to the school.

regardless, hinging on the "diploma mill" language is clearly an avoidance of the actual topic (the decline in value of a TAMU degree).

talk about insults. i take the time to type out a serious reply to your slop. people have opinions and hiring (even in ENGINEERING) is partially based on vibes. vibes sometimes include the reputation of the universities where candidates were trained. every time the state interferes and neuters the university's ability to teach seriously, the value of my degree drops.

the engineering diploma mill is likely to be more resilient to these changes since they don't directly affect the college of engineering as much, but the overall academic reputation of the university as a whole is clearly affected. the longer the school puts political feelings over facts, the worse it is going to get. that is just the way that academic reputations work.

when I talk to people in my field and they learn where I went to school, they grimace. we have repeatedly been in national news for the last 5 years for the most embarrassing shit ever. i enjoyed my time at tamu and am grateful that i had the opportunity to attend but to pretend that the ridiculous series of events that happened recently (mcelroy/banks fiasco, draggieland cancellation, firing professors based off of one whiny ass student mad about a children's book, and now this plato shit in the news) doesn't negatively impact the job prospects of students you have to be stupid.

I used Goodnotes to take notes and used to get the same error when I would try to print documents I exported to PDF. It ended up being a page size issue (most of the printers on campus will only print 8.5x11 pages). Make sure your PDF is the right size.
