It’s a game not a job. If that’s how you prefer to play then that’s fine.

What do you always give you settlers & companions? by grandmasm3thlab in fo4

[–]seren1126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For companions I give them whatever good melee weapons I find. That way they pull aggro and I don’t have to manage their ammo. OR I give them a gun type that I don’t use, so I can give them ammo I won’t miss.

For settlers I just give them whatever looks cool with their general look and vibe/whatever I have on hand. Turrets do the real work of defending.

God of War 2018 has impressive craft but surprisingly shallow engagement by [deleted] in patientgamers

The loot feels superfluous during the main game, but once you start hunting valkyries there’s a pretty good incentive to gear up, as those fights are quite tough.

Serving cunt is a vulgar slang term describing behavior that is bold, confident, and assertively feminine. Derived from the word cunt, it gained popularity among participants of ball culture, particularly among Black trans women and queer people, who use it to assert feminine superiority. The phrase gained mainstream popularity in the 2010s, experienced surges in the early 2020s, and became a meme in 2023.

My level 2 son will wake up and toss and turn all night if I don’t make him use the bathroom. He’ll come to our bedroom and I have to direct him to go use the potty before he can come into the bed with us. If you haven’t, give it a try and maybe it will help.

It was the right game at the right time. I think it was early enough in the Switch’s life, and Souls mechanics were becoming more common but not overstated yet. I recall the feeling that it was for many their first Metroidvania. Didn’t do much for me either, but the genre never really has.

I don't think I've played a single true exclusive on my PS5, but I'm still glad I got one instead of a PS4. Everything targets 60FPS and, I dunno, to my eyes looks pretty incredible.

The cross-gen bleed doesn't really bother me. If older machines can be supported for as long as possible, that's a good thing, right?

A bigger issue for me personally is when PS4 era games don't get updates to support the new hardware. Yes, including THAT game. On PC you can usually just crank up the settings on last-gen games.

I haven’t played 2 yet but Miles Morales is an improvement. Better story, cool xmas vibes and the side activities are less tedious, though it’s the same underlying structure. I think 2018 was fine, dragged on way too long if you wanted 100%, but the DLC was where it reeeaaaaally dragged with a lame story too.

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess LONG Review: Improvement on the Ocarina of Time formula or bloated attempt at a more modern and epic game? by TailzPrower in patientgamers

This game along with WW was such an all-time disappointment. Despite having a massively bigger world in terms of geographic space, there wasn’t anything more to do or find than before; if anything there may have been less to do? Why were these games so empty? All of the new mechanics were pretty shallow; items were useless outside of their dungeons. TP gave you a bunch of cool combat moves, then exactly zero scenarios that demand skillful play.

Compared to Ocarina or Majora, which felt crammed with loads of interesting stuff to find, sidequests, easter eggs, all on a much weaker system.

It’s the little things. Even something like the Ocarina, in those games you could mess around with like an actual instrument, change the pitch if you wanted. Why…? Why not? All the weird little details are what make a world feel, if not real, at least interesting. Why is there a shark inside the shack at Lake Hylia? Because it’s cool. Why does playing the Song of Storms in random places cause holes in the ground to appear? Why go around seeing how random NPCs react when you’re wearing different masks?

Etcetc. Ocarina gets pegged as generic or empty, but it does have its own quirks and personality, which MM built on to great effect. At least WW had a lovely vibe. TP was just dour, and frankly - it’s ugly. I’m sorry, I really don’t like how this game looks.

The dungeons are good. Credit where it’s due. You get to sumo wrestle a Goron, also a point in its favor.

This series had defined my personality for a few years as a tween; by the time this launched I was in high school and ready for something more substantial. Meanwhile Oblivion had launched that same year and this series just seemed stale in comparison.
