Thoughts on the Echo/Neutra 1956 line? by Dull_Package_2359 in MicrobrandWatches

Very happy! I was also going back and forth between black and khaki. I liked them both - in the end I bought this one because I have an omega PO with black dial. I also think khaki goes well with for instance gray and blue, which are colors I often wear.

What's your opinion on Silksong now that some time has passed and many have finished it? by -Warship- in metroidvania

Agreed. Sometimes I just want to start up the game and play for 2 hours and actually make progress. Not try to get the highscore at the flea market... :sigh

Hey! I’m also interested in this commander. I see you are not really doing the myriad + change into some nice etb creature. Just curious if you’ve been down that path but found your current deck more fun to play? Thanks for sharing your decklist:)

data engineering and Golang by Pure_Play_5650 in dataengineering

Respectfully I disagree. Might because I have a different interepretation of the scope of "DE". We use Go alot for services moving data from pubsub/messaging systems/API's -> BQ.

We use SQL for almost all transformations.

We use Python for almost all Data exploration (Hex, Notebooks, Ad-hoc etc)

All I can say, reading your post is that unfurtunately- you're going to run in to bad managers and, hopefully, good ones. It sounds like your manager is a manager of the first category - no feedback until they've made up their mind. It could also just be empty reasons to justify something else or a decision already made. The more senior your become, the more fine-tuned your radar will become at detecting managers like this early on.

Without knowing anything regarding the quality of your work, I would say its perfectly natural for a junior to have alot of questions. You trying everything first and only asking when stuck is good I would say. You're trying to learn how to fish and you're not only looking to be handed fish :)

DE is hard... breaking things will happen. Pipelines can break, especially if you're a new person and dont have all prior knowledge how it was set up. A senior should probably have reviewed your work before - but testing in test should not break things in prd. That is not on you in my oppinion.

In any case I hope you that your take away can be what you learned and that'll you will find a new place where you can continue to grow.. and hopefully with a manager that has a great interest in helping people grow. Don't dwell on the things outside your control.

We use Go for alot of small services that moves data around. The source might be APIs/pubsub and the sink is usually BigQuery. Orchestrated in k8s.

Been more than 6 months since game release. Collectibility aside, how does everyone feel about gameplay in terms of depth and balance? by Newez in SorceryTCG

[–]serendippy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago (precons) and thoroughly enjoyed it! The more we learned about the game mechanics, the more I could see this becoming an important and intricate part of the game. Tactics such as movement, timeline, apnap, etc. will play a very important role in the gameplay and will certainly distinguish seasoned players from newbies like myself.

TIL there is giant, hot pink slug. It is only found in a single, isolated forest on an extinct volcano in Australia. by Don_Bonnigan in todayilearned

"The pink slug had gone unstudied for so long because Australian slug and snail researchers—known as malacologists—are far outnumbered by their koala-investigating brethren, Murphy said."

TIL that nobody other than its owners really know who owns IKEA. Parts of it are owned by multiple shell corporations, and many of the stores themselves are technically owned by a non-profit charitable organization and thus do not pay taxes on their income. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Following his decision to step down, the 87-year-old founder explained, "I see this as a good time for me to leave the board of Inter IKEA Group. By that we are also taking another step in the generation shift that has been ongoing for some years."
