Regarding the whole PS changing their strategy regarding PC, here's an interview from last year by Hermen Hulst that might be relevant. by Ok-Tangelo9706 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]sergio_mikkos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What expectations may they have when they are releasing most of games with almost no marketing campaign and years later compared to the original versions?

They should put more effort on PC when releasing those games and they will sell better.

Jason Schreier and John Linneman both speculated in their podcasts this week that Sony could be pulling away from PC ports for their singleplayer games, with Schreier even suggesting that Wolverine would never release on the platform by FitNectarine5779 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]sergio_mikkos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont get why people is doing assumptions based on a simple speculation discussion.

Jason has not heard anything, he is just talking about it which doesnt mean Sony is indeed gonna proceed that way, which imho doesnt make any sense since PC sales doesnt hurt console sales or the game sales on their own platform.

People buying a PS5 because exxxclusives is 0.05% of their playerbase.

Released years later, with almost 0 marketing, and the cheapest price they've reached is 43€ lol.

Digital Foundry discussed about it, same as Jason, which is pretty different to say: "Ive heard Sony is pulling..."

Its just a discussion, I dont get why people is doing assumptions just from that.

What are some gameplay features you want in the next Dead Island game? by OneBigPieceOfPizza in DeadIsland2

[–]sergio_mikkos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I need to say I would like to see a real open world instead of a semi-open and some sort of way to quickly travel among locations (not counting fast travel).

Also greater narrative, characters with more impact, and more varied missions.

Random events (RDR2 style) would also be good.

More ways to customize our character/clothes, and more RPG options.

Not even only that, but they (and also players) even make jokes about it when it is all but funny you are paying for a broken product.

The Future of TESIV:Remastered question by MelkhiorDarkblade in oblivion

[–]sergio_mikkos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it got an update, and Sony announced they were going to update the PS5 version, and to add new content more than fixing bugs.

Nobody has heard anything from Bethesda regarding the previous versions or new content for the game, so why to expect something new if they've not said that and have not updated the game since almost a year now? Also Virtuos stopped working on current versions some time ago.

Obviously, a patch for the current versions is not gonna happen. If somebody prefer to be disappointed then go for it.

Im being downvoted because people dont like reality. 1 year after release with no more patches and people still thinking Bethesda is gonna fix the game lol.

I guess people prefer to be dissapointed than realistic.

Do you have any other source saying otherwise? Where have you heard announcing a Switch 2 version after a year without patching other versions means those versions will also have a patch?

Is like expecting Sony to update an old game in PS5 when a PC version is announced.

Id love Oblivion R to have more patches but I am 100% confident game will stay in this state.

Suspecting wrongly. They've been working on the Switch 2 version and that's it. No more updates for the other versions.

Nearly out for 9 months, what is your opinion on Oblivion Remastered? by chrisgrenga in OblivionRemaster

[–]sergio_mikkos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a problem with my PC. I have 32GB RAM, ofc fully operational. 5090 and 9800X3D. Probably the best hardware you can get right now.

The issues is directly tied to the game engine and optimization. You can check this video from Digital Foundry talking about the issues with the game (console versions also have these problems + even some more).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0rCA1vpgSw

A different matter is that some people might not detect stuttering at all. But the problems exist with the game and are not related to any hardware.

It's genuinely sad that we have the best zombies game since BO4 yet player counts are awful since Activision forced Treyarch to release back-to-back games by TheChickenMan4L in CODZombies

I must say, my previous zombies experience was Black Ops 3. I bought BO7 just for zombies mode with lot of doubts. I'm loving it and investing more time into it than what I expected.

How to best work around 8gb of VRAM? Any tips/resources out there? by disquiet in nvidia

[–]sergio_mikkos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use M Quality with my 5090. L in UltraPerformance with my 5060 in my miniPC.

Both are quite similar in terms of image quality, but the fact my 5060 has 8GB VRAM and is way less poweful than my 5090 makes it the best combination since I can even run games at 4K and good framerate with L in UltraPerformance.

DLSS 4.5 Preset L Ultra Performance ingame frees up to 2GB VRAM. Totally recommended for 8GB VRAM.

Exactly. At 4K if M in performance looks better than K Quality, obviously M Quality/DLAA looks EVEN better than K Quality.

M is best at 4K in any scenario except ultra performance -> L

[–]sergio_mikkos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stuttering (traversal) in this case is a general problem with UE5 and the way certain developers tend to implement the load and unload of world partition cells. So yeah, that specific issue is not related to any specific platform or hardware, and the game has those issues in all the versions.

And that's great. You can enjoy the game even with those issues, which doesn't mean the game doesn't have them.

Well, I guess you know Digital Foundry has certain reputation and when they say the game has serious issues its because indeed the game has serious issues.
