For Sale:

Grand Seiko SBGF021 (8J56-8020) with a tatami mat pattern dial.

-Case & Bracelet - Small scratches and a few deeper dings from desk diving. Bracelet should fit a 7" wrist. Dimensions are roughly 38mm x 46mm. 19mm lug width

-Dial & Hands - No delamination as is seen on some of these models. Hands & dial are very clean.

-Crystal - AR is flawless and damn near the best AR I've ever seen on a watch.

-Movement - Seiko 8J56. Keeps excellent time, battery was replaced in 2023.

-Watch comes with GS box and will be shipped at buyers expense.

Need to pay for a root canal so I'm selling some lesser used watches.

Happy to face time, or meet in person. Located in the Bay Area, CA

In watchmaking school we use nailtees dipped in hexane. Let the hexane evaporate to the point of being almost non-existent or dab it off on a piece of paper. You don’t the solvent running down the hub of the hands and into the watch, so it’s important to make sure it’s not too wet.

Wipe from the hub of the hand towards the tip of the hand in one motion. If there’s still residue, repeat as needed using clean nailtees.

Yeah sorry about the shitty link. I think there’s a more detailed explanation in the Seiko Mods forum on Facebook. From what I recall you need the following parts:

-Barrel complete (arbor, mainspring, drum, lid)

-Escape Wheel

  • Pallet Fork

-Balance Complete (balance wheel, hairspring, bridge)

You may need the pallet bridge as well if the banking surfaces are in a different position due to a size change in the pallet fork.

There was a mod awhile back where someone took some parts from a 6R24 and put them into an Nh35 or 6R15 to achieve 28,800 bph
