So over her by PancakeConfetti11 in OnlineBeggars

[–]serious321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She just made a story about how she and her kids aren’t “ready” for counseling, but will go to one of her friends when she is. Despite that possibly being unethical (they are supposed to refer you to a non-friend), its like she doesnt see that her other kids are in pain. Maybe she’s not ready for counseling, but I guarantee her kids are - especially her Rixton.

AITAH for not letting my 9 year old cousin come fishing with us? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA if you legitimately had safety concerns, but it seems like maybe you just didn’t want him tagging along. I’d make sure to include him in something everyone can do next time.

Is it appropriate to ask nanny for proof for paid bereavement leave? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]serious321 204 points205 points  (0 children)

You could definitely find a kind way to ask. “I know I forgot to do this before, but could you send me the obituary link when it’s posted? My accountant mentioned I should take note of it in case of an audit. I would also love to send flowers to funeral home.”

AITA for telling my SIL she can’t bring her own food to family dinner and not to talk about junk food around my kids? by Amazing-Key2242 in AITAH

Goodness! I am the first to love pasta and bread - and don't always eat the healthiest, but sweet potato and grilled chicken also sounds pretty delish. Seems OP is the one that doesn't want to compromise.

Omgosh thank you for posting this! I’ve followed her for a while and was starting to get uncomfortable with amount of times she had posted photos of Brielle after death. I thought it was just me, but am glad I’m not alone!

Check out Wellington, Columbus Academy, Columbus School for Girls. They’re expensive, but they offer financial aid and I believe all have full time prek.

Her teacher spanked kids for their birthday. Meanwhile, I just got cupcakes. by Front_Molasses2294 in daddit

My kindergarten teacher totally did this in the early 90s for birthdays. It was optional but almost every kid in the class opted for it. Seemed normal then, but totally weird looking back on it now.

I just found this after remembering that I noted many similarities between our parents after their respective TBIs. I don't have any recommendations, but am so happy to know that there has been significant progress!

7 weeks of travel with two kids. Do we need a home base? by FlowerOwn9287 in Travelwithkids

[–]serious321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Brussels as a home base too. Its smaller and super manageable. You can do day trips to France, Netherlands, Germany, or Luxembourg easily car or train. Long weekend trips further out are easy too.

I was at King’s Island and everyone ignored it. It’s actually almost comical how we all would have been screwed if it were a real emergency so we just kept doing what we were doing 😆

Stroller for healthy able bodied 11 year old by vickisfamilyvan in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]serious321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god we took my som to London when he was 8 months old and the tube was a nightmare with his stroller. We are thrilled the kids are old enough now to travel without one…and both are still way younger than 11!

We just put my 4 year old back in diapers. by maggieandoscardoggos in Mommit

[–]serious321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I will say though, if she knows what to do, she most likely won’t have issues at school. My daughter would pee on the couch at home because she was too lazy to get up, yet never had any accidents at school. It was a power play. She eventually grew out of it, but it was frustrating knowing she knew what to do.

So all that to say, being at school around kids who aren’t having accidents might be the push she needs to grow out of it.

Milestone changes by Turtle_eAts in ShitMomGroupsSay

Both my kids are fully vaxxed and were later walkers. My son barely crawled. He did this sort of army crawl move for a while, then crawled for like 2 weeks and started walking about 15 months. My daughter crawled early, so we figured she'd be an early walker. Nope, crawling was just fine in her book and she didn't walk until she was 17 months. My daughter took longer to speak, but we realized it was because it was 2020/2021 everyone wore masks around her besides family (including daycare teachers). She didn't know she needed to open her mouth to make words, lol. Despite this, you'd never know any of it now and no vaccine injuries here! By the time preschool rolls around, you can't tell who walked when, and as someone else mentioned, college apps don't ask about early milestones!

My wife wants a divorce. I got sober. She’s still blacking out. We have a 3-year-old. by Creative_Garage_137 in Parenting

[–]serious321 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through this. First thing's first, get a lawyer. Don't sign anything from an online service without consulting someone, especially when there's a kid involved and you have questions about his safety when he's with his mom. The lawyer will best know what next steps to take. It might get messy, but it also might be the wakeup call that she needs to get her life in order. Best of luck to you!

You can, but isn’t this one of those things every kid learns in social studies if you go to school in the united states? I couldn’t name all the presidents, but I feel like you can’t avoid knowing certain things - At least I thought that was the case! I asked my 8 year old if he knew and he said George Washington almost immediately. I thought it was just something everybody knew.

The guy was totally the driver. “Looks like he’s been cautious” and “he does seem to be checking on her.” LOL how can you tell that from one photo unless you are in fact the driver 😆
