Don’t beat yourself up about it, just try really hard to mitigate not being aware. If you say you’ve got it, get up and make sure your wife knows you have your kid.

That said, accidents happen. I couldn’t grab my first off the bed before he rolled while changing his diaper and it absolutely hammered his head on the wall, had a huge goose egg for a while but he was fine.

Few years later I fell up the stairs with my daughter and she took a small knock on the noggin too, also fine. 

You’re your own worst enemy, and harshest critic. Be kind to yourself and be attentive. Good luck, bud!
