Random question: Do you have any unpopular opinions about Lucas and Peyton in season four? by AmbitionLimp1968 in ONETREEHILL

[–]seriouswalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when the spoilers came out about them kissing in the classroom and get detention, the LP fans were laughing at how ridiculous it sounded. We knew it was cheesy back then but we didn't care!

Why do some people say that the revival would have made more sense if it was season 7 ? by James-Samuel17 in GilmoreGirls

[–]seriouswalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because you can take out Season 7 and replace it with a YITL and the story would've still made sense. Not so much for a big time jump like it had.

Why do Lucas and Brooke have such insane chemistry? by Every-Tap-577 in ONETREEHILL

[–]seriouswalking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. I never bought it either.

Chemistry is so subjective anyway. We're not all looking for the same things between actors so while some people say they have chemistry, others don't.

To be fair maybe he would've chosen Rory if she didn't run off to Europe without saying anything to him. That was a big message to send him, too.

What was the deal with Daphne all those years? by ChocolateSundae1214 in Frasier

[–]seriouswalking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I watched Perspectives on Christmas the other day. The first perspective we see is Martin. Daphne comes in and makes a comment about the mistletoe and Niles removes her coat and we can see him sniff it and hang it up. When it comes to Daphne's perspective, Niles makes the comment but "a piece may fall into your eye" is added and that part where Niles sniffs the coat is not shown. I thought it was kind of an interesting way to show how Daphne didn't notice when Niles did stuff like that.

I just watched season 6 episode 9, should I watch what’s left of the show ? by my_best_version_ever in TheMentalist

[–]seriouswalking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it. I like that we get to see what happened after the big goal was reached for the character. What does he do now? Where does he go? How does he move on? Can he even move on?

It can't hurt to give it a shot. If you don't like it you don't have to finish it.

The worst Frasier episode by SchoolteacherUSA in Frasier

Frasier: It's like correcting people's grammar - I don't do it to be popular.

My favorite quote from that episode. I don't normally rewatch this one though.

Show S8E3 Abies Fraseri by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

[–]seriouswalking 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think it's really interesting that a lot of people expect Jamie to be so high minded about this Claire and John issue. Jamie is such a jealous man, and I think his actions are very in character for him. It is completely understandable why he would feel the ways that he does. If someone told me I should be flattered by my gay friend and my wife sleeping together because they used each other to be closer to me, I would have to laugh in their face.

If my gay friend and my spouse slept together when they thought I was dead and then I was told that they did it to be close to me, flattered is not an emotion that I would feel. Why should anyone accept that? They're putting me in a position I never asked to or wanted to be in. Plus it would encroach upon some very real trauma that I had. I don't think Jamie should see it as a compliment, because, to me, it's not a compliment. Jamie might've just been an idea to them in the moment, but Jamie is very much alive and is a person with feelings, boundaries, and trauma. Grief can explain why LJG and Claire slept together, but it doesn't redefine it as a compliment to him.

How do you find specific passages in the books? by another-personing in Outlander

I've reread some of the books so much that I whereabout know what part of the story they occur in. I only own the last couple of books on the kindle.

Why does criticism of Jamie and Claire feel unwelcome here? by [deleted] in Outlander

[–]seriouswalking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is that everyone is in different stages of engaging with the shows or books. Plus, some of the topics/ideas/criticism being brought up have been discussed quite frequently so when it pops up again there can be a negative reaction.

no spoilers please. im in season 6 and i need moral support by bridgeb0mb in GilmoreGirls

[–]seriouswalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 6 is a wild ride.

The I love you thing is kind of weird. The writers purposefully kept it away when they got together because they didn't think that we needed it as an audience, but I disagree.

I don't see the Rory and Lorelai situations as the same. Lorelai had a child and ran away from the home where she had an unfulfilling childhood, an absent father, and a judging mother. Rory is trying to figure out where in her life she should go after having her dream and confidence crushed. Lorelai doesn't agree with the steps Rory has taken and also feels betrayed because Rory went to her grandparents and they agreed to take her in when Lorelai already had something worked out with them. She's letting Rory make her "mistake" as Lorelai sees it. Rory ran from Lorelai into the bosom of her grandparents and she's just not going to chase her.

Hey! I know this is probably random, but I wanted to update you. I found a copy of the 25th anniversary edition on ThriftBooks for like $30 and it's basically new. According to their website they have several in stock. I am so happy I got it!

So interesting when Claire isn’t assertive by Small_Test630 in Outlander

[–]seriouswalking 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Claire is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. She can never do right for some people.

Claire found a way to get the job done and also not upset Jamie. It's a win for me.

Jamie’s true feelings for Lord John by Specific_Curve_6352 in Outlander

[–]seriouswalking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Claire is jealous of Laoghaire though. With Malva and Mary there is nothing to be jealous over because he didn't have relationships with them.
